Had a great day on the water with Capt. Monty!  In our party of six, we had five beginner fisherman under seventeen. Monty was patient and helpful to them all and made it an awesome experience that none of them will ever forget. The conditions were as calm as I have ever seen. We had a full moon so the fishing was pretty slow until the end of the day. I originally booked a 3/4 day trip but when the bite picked up later in the afternoon Monty allowed us to extend the trip and all of the kids brought home at least one fish. This was our first deep sea fishing adventure.  We looked at severa ventures before we came across Monty.  He is exactly like his video.  He is truly a dedicated fisherman.  Safety review was appreciated and he and his first mate Benjamin were kind, knowledgeable and took the Covid precautions seriously.  The weather was beautiful at the start and then a storm came on quickly and settled in the area and seemed to stall.  Monty did a great job navigating away from the center and still managed to get us to a good voting area.  We caught 6 Spanish mackerels.  Monty and Benjamin are funny and kept the ambiance upbeat and a heck of a lot of fun.  We were laughing and relaxing the whole time.  Upon porting, Monty filleted the fish and we took them home.  Monty gave us a recipe to follow with soaking in hot sauce and then breading before pan searing.  The fish were perfectly delicious.  Monty runs a top notch business.  You won’t go wrong with his fishing expedition!  ***** 5 stars

We went fishing with Monty and his first mate Benny On June 23.  I took my son and his friend, neither one of them had done this type of fishing before.  They had a blast and created memories neither one of them will ever forget.  Monty was great and they boys immediately took to him and his humor!  The weather was uncertain but Monty was in constant communication with me on his thoughts and even offered to reschedule for another date if we could not get the full time in.  We elected to go and cut the trip short if the weather didn’t cooperate.  The weather changed just as predicted but it didn’t put a bit of a damper on the experience!  I really appreciated Monty’s communication and concern for safety for all of us.  In my opinion there is no better option for fishing in Wrightsville Beach than Captain Big Fish.  Oh and Monty one last thing….......ROLL TIDE!!!

Captain Monty keeps a clean, well-organized, safe boat. Captain Monty worked extremely hard to make it a great trip and experience for us all.  We all had a great time out.  I would highly recommend Captain Monty for any fishing trip. Looking forward to next time.
