Captain Dan called me the morning of our trip and canceled do to rain(by him) it didnโt rain at all. We went out next day and he talked me out of a near shore to an inshore trip for $50 less, because of rough seas. We stayed in the channel the entire trip. I thought the inshore trip consisted of more than the channel, I thought it would have been in the Banana River. Spent half and hour alone in the locks. Yeah!
I sincerely apologize you were disappointed with your fishing experience this past Wednesday August 31st. The weather in Florida can be unpredictable and challenging to forecast, especially with large weather patterns such as tropical storm Hermione in the gulf. The decision to cancel was made on years of experience and my honest prediction of how a large thunderstorm system would behave that morning.
I apologize for the confusion as to what kind of trip was possible. Either day, Tuesday August 30 or Wednesday August 31, the sea state was such that would have made any nearshore or offshore trip unsafe. The area in which we traveled through the locks to enter, where you caught redfish, flounder, seatrout, mangrove snapper and Jack Crevalle, was the Banana River.
I always strive to provide my clients with a safe and enjoyable fishing experience, giving the best that the Space Coast has to offer. I wish you best of luck on your next fishing excursion.
Capt. Dan

This is my best advice. I am a working man so Iโm just gonna tell you how I feel. I find it better to just go to Walmart and buy a 35 dollar fishing rod, and head to the closest riverbank and fish your heart out.ย I spent $400 for three of us to fish off shore with no luck,ย except for one 4 pound triple tail.ย Thatโs $400 for maybe a pound of fishโฆ. let that sink in!ย So if you have money to waste, by all means give it away. Myself, I will never ever, do something this stupid again. Sorry if I hurt anyoneโs feelings, Captain Dan was a very nice person and very informative, but Iโll never give my money away like this in my life. Iโve had better luck by myself fishing offshore. And again, best of luck to all you anglers.

I would first like to clarify that this was a Nearshore trip. I do offer Offshore trips and would have been happy to have taken you and your family offshore, which would have taken us to different areas and provided different species to target. The decision to select the Nearshore trip was yours.
I try to do the absolute best to give my clients the best experience I can during each of my fishing trips. That said there is no guarantee. The way saltwater fish feed and move around is controlled by a bunch of environmental factors. The water temperature, moon phase, tide, wind, etc can all factor into how the fishing is on a certain day. These factors are all out of my control.
While I happily enjoy catch and release fishing the vast majority of my charters are run with the intent to take some tasty filets home, as long as the fish are legal to harvest. If the most important part of a fishing charter to you is strictly taking as much fish as possible for as little cost I would recommend you visit your local fish market. Seeing as we were the only people cleaning fish that day, and that we released a bunch of bluefish which you could legally keep (but chose not to) I think we did quite well all things considered.
