Great time! Captain Perry kept us on the fish. We limited out on Red Snapper. Great time, will definitely do it again.
Capt John and his wife are really nice people but the trip was terrible. It was obvious that there was no plan to try and find fish. We were at the first spot for about 10 min with no bite and left to fish a bridge. We fished the bridge for close to 3 hours catching 2 black drum, 2 11” trout several crokers (including the largest one Capt John had ever seen) and a couple hard head. We trolled for Mackerel for and hour and a half or so with no action other than getting the trolling lined tangled. After that we fished another bridge that at least 10+ boats had already fished (we saw them) before calling it a day.
Capt John spent most of the day talking to his boat mechanic, setting up other trips (while telling us about all the fish he was going to catch), and other misc. conversations in between. No real attention or initiative was given to me or my fishing partner to try and enhance our experience or to truly find some fish. I have been on several guided trips and understand the fishing may be tough. At least during those trips I felt like the guide was trying. On a positive note Johns wife Chastity was really sweet and really tried to help. She would get bait ready for us and seemed aware that we were not having the greatest time. She had good intentions to make the trip positive.
