The fishing trip was amazing and it starts with the Captain and crew. Captain Warren was the best! His mission was to ensure we had a great experience and we did. We not only caught enough yellow fish tuna fish to feed a small Costa Rican town but had such a great time doing it and that’s where the crew comes in. Their names escape me but they were friendly, attentive, and wanted us to slay fish. We caught so many fish we came in early and then enjoyed our time drinking some cold beer with Captain Warren and the crew. Can’t recommend Flamingo Sportfishing enough. Pura enjoyment… Pura vida!

Start by saying Captain Warner and Mate Miguel are very personable and hard working. Miguel is very attentive and always looking after your needs whether it’s drinks, snacks, sandwiches, or just conversation. We ran offshore for about 45 minutes and started for Mahi or Sailfish/Marlin. As soon as the Capt. saw a mass of birds hitting the water he signaled Miguel and the chase was on. Soon we were witnessing Tuna jumping. Miguel changed the lines from live bait to lures and we were quickly hooked up with a double. My wife and I successfully boated the two Tunas. We watched other boats also catching. Switching back to bait again and tried for Mahi/billfish for a while. Then back to chasing Tuna again and boating two more Yellowfin. During the times between we saw hundreds of Dolphins, Turtles, and Mobula Rays belly flopping. I do recommend that you use sunscreen and wear a good UV fishing shirt and hat. The boat does have a canvas for shade but due to the directions you have to run from shore, you’re going to be in the sun a lot. I absolutely recommend hiring this crew if they are available for the day you’re looking for. I will if back in the Flamingo area.

Not enough words can describe this awesome trip! Went out with the crew and caught the biggest fish I’ve ever landed. Big ol’ Marlin approx. 3 meters 200lb. If it wasn’t for the Captain and crew it couldn’t be possible. They know where to get the fish and you won’t be disappointed. Hospitality, and excited as you are to land the big fish. I’ve been on several deep sea fishing trips, inshore, bottom fishing, freshwater charters and this is number one! Taking the full day trip next time I visit so I can enjoy more fishing with em! (Marlin and sailfish are hook and release so picture out of water was unavailable just in case you were wondering)

Months ago when it was decided that we were going to Costa Rica we made a goal to catch a glorious fish known to the Costa Rica waters. A fish with tiger like stripes and unique dorsal fin that it’s name originates from. The Rooster Fish. We set out to sea in search of the elusive creature with captain Werner and First Mate Miguel. After drinking a few provided local beers, fresh local fruit, and catching some Bonita fish, Miguel baited a Bonita for the big one. After 20-30 minutes he hooked into a monster. It was a team effort to real it in. Once close to the boat Miguel heaved the beast into the boat and the celebration ensued. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. Thanks for making dreams come true.

Priceless experience w with my son and I. Miguel the mate was EXTREMELY attentive and supportive for my 13 y.o. son. He made us our food, grabbed us drinks, did all the work on the deck. We caught the most beautiful Yellow-Fins and at the end, he switched tackle and we landed what looked like a 6-7 foot Sailfish but it cut the line just before Miguel could gaff it. Just priceless. Thank you Captain Werner & Miguel!!!
