But I wish someone would have told us that the fishing at this time of the year was very poor. We had a one fish for entire 8 hours trip. The boat was old and pretty beat up. Crew was very helpful and tried hard to get us more fish. Overall not bad but only if we could bring in more fish .
I’ll start with the positive; the crew was very friendly and helped us catch 10 dorado! That is was very exciting! The boat was in need of some repair; the railing was broken and held together with a towel wrap and the bathroom was not female friendly (missing the top seat). The rods and reels were great ! We purchased a full day (8hrs) with lunch and drinks (8 drinks p/p). We were told we were going back to the marina after 6hrs. The team didn’t prepare with enough ice to keep our fish fresh, they only bought one bag and the live bait purchased was about 5 live bait. The lunch was sub sandwiches that stayed on a seat and got soggy wet by the time my husband asked if they were for us. The crew didn’t realize they were there until 5hrs later. Drinks were coronitas and water, but we had less then 8 p/p. It is best to bring your own lunch and ice chest of drinks, the value isn’t worth paying for. And we paid for 8hrs, we got 6hrs. We should have been given the reimbursement for a half day trip when we got back. We did have to argue about the clean and fillet that was included, as the crew didn’t know anything about that, but the owner was easy to reach and explained he would pay for it or we could use a service to have the fish prepared to ship home with us, but that we paid for. When we got to the marina they were showing off our fish to prospective future sales and the sea lion “Poncho” snagged the BIGGEST of our catch and no one seemed concerned to make up for our loss. It was a big laugh for them. The crew definitely knows how to help you catch the fish, but overall I think we felt a bit let down.

Didn’t go on Lisa, up sales to Phantom 3. Boat was just ok, one fighting chair was broke. Hot day, asked to turn on music to pass the time, didn’t happen. Crew would only talk if asked a question, and sometimes not even then. Told them just get us on some kind of fish. Not even a bite. I know it is fishing and sometimes you don’t get anything. But crew could have made it a little more enjoyable.
Nothing about this trip was good. Boat wouldn’t start. Got a 30 minute late go of it. Captain was driving crazy! Mario was great. We cut the trip short. It was that bad.
Hi travis thanks for fishing with us l know the boat did not start right away the batteris were death they maybe letf the lights on the day before staff happens we really sorry but l wish we were stay a little longer up there for you guys and catch you some fish but were but on the dock 45 minutes later you told the capitan the you like to go back the both of you guys were sea sick we try .
I have chartered boats in Mexico about 50 times over the last decade and have never experienced anything like our first day with Phantom, which would have been on the 1st of February. We left the marina and hour and a half after arriving for a 6:00 a.m. departure, the captain and mate were very disinterested in fishing and had to be prodded to do anything with the lines. We paid for live bait and had to direct them to bait a hook, which went unchecked for over 3 hours and was only changed out when I demanded the same. The captain wanted to go back early and I had to point out that we paid for 8 hours of fishing and that the 1.5 hours of dicking around on the dock does not count. The second day was better and that captain showed a real interest in trying to catch fish, unlike the first day. But for a 3lb snapper and a few throw back of various species we were skunked over the two days but I assure you that this is not the basis of my disgust. I have spent more money on bigger boats and have been skunked - it is called fishing, not catching and I get it. What I don’t get is people that think that lazy customer service is the way to get repeat business and we certainly won’t be back.
