The trip was misrepresented. The boat was old and dirty. One toilet was full and stinking. The bed looked slept in and had rods laying all over it. There were no outriggers. The captain was ok but the first mate should be fired. He had a hissy fit and cussed at my husband. Then slapped another guy with a fish, causing him to be finned and bleed. The first mate also reeled in a number of fish instead of letting the guests get them. I was told 80 Mike’s out and a large selection of fish- they went maybe 20 miles or so and caught kingfish and mangrove snapper. Not exciting. Guests reported that the photos of the boat did not match the advertised photos - it is an old boat and needs repairs. I will not use this service again. It was a very special trip to celebrate my husbands birthday and retirement. He doesn’t want to do this fishing trip again

Lisa, Let’s start off with the boat you booked. You booked the Texas Bet as it even says in the booking on this review. The Texas Bet is a center console boat. I upgraded you to a sport fisher with an ac cabin at no charge. You also booked a 8 hour trip so your expectation of running out 80 miles and catching Marlin is pretty high. Your daughter asked the captain to keep fishing for Kingfish because she was having a blast catching them. When the Kings stopped biting the captain put them on Dog Snapper. When your family got off the boat they seemed very happy. Happy enough to give the crew a 400.00 tip. Sorry no matter how much we tried to please you we just couldn’t.

Thought we would be fishing with Captain Mike but were given another captain, very young. Caught a good amount of kings but only got a few snapper which we were hoping to limit out with. Bathroom was advertised as being on the boat but was just a toilet mounted in the center console of the boat with no toilet paper for the kids or women and was dirty. You had to shimmy in to that hot space with a window looking into it. Fishingbooker stated they would provide snacks and water but they didn’t. Fish cleaning was not included. I don’t think I would pay this much money for a trip for the type of fish we targeted.

Hey john, sorry for the confusion during our 12hr charter. I called you guys the night before and stated my name, what time to meet and to bring along any snacks or drinks you guys might want to enjoy during the trip. In my morning speech I said there were waters inside the front cooler and that I had the toilet paper inside my backpack so it wouldn’t get wet inside the bathroom, I should have reminded you guys throughout the day. As for the bathroom I do apologize as it was my fault that it did not get cleaned after our previous charter the day before as we run a lot of trips it is easy to forget something like that. As for the fishing we enjoyed a very nice kingfish bite and I was happy to stay on them while they were biting considering we were battling 6ft seas. While we were catching snapper you told me that you guys were ready to go in, I am sorry for the slight mismanagement of our time but I was prepared to stay on the spot until we got our limit as this was the first charter we have ever taken that has not met the limit. Again I’m really sorry for the miscommunication between us throughout the day I only wish you guys would have said something so I could’ve met your needs better. honestly this review surprised me considering everyone left with smiles, sore arms, and we were left with a $260 tip. If there is anything we can do to make amends please return the owners call and we can sort it out.
