Really loved our time. Relaxing trip just offshore. The captain was accommodating for floating along the coast while I fly casted. Then did some trolling and picked up a yellow tail snapper and some Jack. This was not an aggressive fishing trip. This was very fun and chill time to spend our on the water in paradise.

We had a decent day on the water. Our capitan did not speak much English. We did catch some smaller snapper and jacks trolling near flats and reef. I wanted to fly fish and we found a couple of permit by chance. We did not hook them but had a couple of shots. Par for permit. The boat was equipped for trolling and had a couple of lures for casting. I don’t believe there was any bait. The captain did what we wanted, but we seemed very limited by our tackle and location. The language barrier made it hard to understand details and reasons. I would recommend this trip for beginners who just want to catch a fish. If you speak good Spanish you may do better.

A fabulous day spent off the coast of Cap Cana with Captain Carlos. While we only caught two fish, he was moving us around to try and find fish. Not his fault they just weren’t hungry today. Would highly recommend.
