Our group had the best time with Troy and James on Miller Time! Prior to the trip, our group shared our goals for the trip with Troy and he did not disappoint! Our main goal was to get practice in for a big womens tournament in Costa Rica and also learn better techniques to prepare us for the trip. James is an extremely patient mate and a wealth of knowledge. He allowed our group to take charge of the reels, prepping lines, checking bait, and hooking fish whenever we showed interest. It was an awesome experience and highly recommend to beginner or more experienced anglers. Troy gave it his all with making sure our goals were met and keeping us engaged. We hit so many different spots and switched up our lines often to keep things fresh in the water. We caught a variety of fish and even got to feed shark wit our scraps ar the end of the day! The highlight of our day was James taking a โdunkarooโ challenge by our group midway through the day as a good luck ritual to bring out the fish! We filled a bucket with salt water, ice from the fish box, James went head first in the bucket and screamed a fish heโd hope we catch! Talk about keeping the spirit and energy up! Now this was a Charter Trip!ย Well maintained 44โ sport fishing vessel.ย A seasoned Captain who knows how to find and catch the baitfish you need to catch โthe BIG oneโ.ย
We were originally scheduled for a Monday morning (6:30 - 12:30) Charter. Due to rough seas and weather he called me very early to ask if I could postpone this Charter until Wednesday or Thursday.ย Fortunately we (me and 14 year old grandson) were able to make the switch. I appreciate this amount of concern for the comfort and safety of his customers.
We boated a ton of bait fish and boated an assortment of Black Fin Tuna and Yellow Tail Snapper. Mate Dillon interfaced with my grandson throughout this trip teaching him much about fishing in โThe Keysโ.

We had 4 guys come together for 2 days of fishing. Troy and James worked their bottoms off to get us on some fish. The first day we went for Tuna and yellowtail with an attempt to find Mahi if we could. We were able to get a few Tuna and about 15 yellow tail snapper. The crew worked hard to teach us techniques on how to catch the yellowtail. The second day, fishing really picked up. We were able to get on the Tuna and Troy worked hard to follow the fish. Are arms were sore by the end of the day! Now for the highlight! We were able to get connected to a Wahoo!!!!! What a great experience. We appreciate the Miller Time crewโs expertise, quality conversation and hard work! We will be booking again! Highly recommend this team!

Both Capt. Troy and his deckhand James were very accommodating especially to our energetic 5 year old who has a million questions. They both were patient with him and took time to answer his questions, many of which were repeats. We were able to get out and get some king mackerel and a nice mutton snapper before some of our group started feeling a little seasick (first time offshore for us) Capt. Troy brought us back in nearer to shore and we were able to get some yellow tail snappers before having him take us back to land to collect ourselves. They clean the fish for you and are helpful on providing advice on preparation of each kind or which restaurants in the area you can take your catch too and have it prepared for your meal. If you are in the Islamorada area and are looking to take a sport fishing trip I highly recommend you look up Millertime sport fishing.

What a day and dream come true! 8 hrs (actually 9) on the water with Capt Troy and James aboard Miller time. Even with the cooler weather these guys put us on fish all day long. Overall we caught 18 yellowtail snapper, 6 blacking tuna, a bunch of Bonita, a 40โ barracuda and to top it off the reason we were out there for 9 hrsโฆ.a giant Goliath grouper that was about 100#! These guys are probably the most personable and accommodating crew Iโve ever fished with. Canโt say enough about these guys but if you are looking for a charter boat look no more. Thank you so much for an amazing trip Capt Troy and we will see you in August for some Mahi Mahiโฆ
