It was a tough day of fishing for my wife, my daughter and me, which happens—and I’m not blaming Captain Heath for that. In an effort to provide some constructive feedback, however, I feel like it would have helped us all if Heath could have been more positive and optimistic in his interactions with us. His repeated reflections on tough fishing, population growth in the area, rising costs of everything from boat repairs to groceries, and his overall negative attitude subtracted from the opportunity to enjoy our time together out on the water. Maybe he was just having a bad day. That happens to all of us, and I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Just mentioning it here so (he and) others can consider whether or not this might matter to them.

We had a great time with Captain Heath this week.  My husband caught a couple nice sized speckled trout and we both fought to pull in a couple large redfish that Captain Heath hooked.  That was an experience I hadn’t had before and it was fun.  They were too large to keep but Heath cleaned up the trout for us and we cooked them for dinner that night.  They were delicious!  Heath was fun to talk to and laid back which was right up our alley.

My family and I had a great trip with Capt. Heath. He was waiting at the dock when we arrived and we departed promptly. After a quick stop for bait we made our way across the bay in search of sea trout. But it was not to be this morning. After several attempts at multiple stops the trout was having none of it. We then went to look for red fish and during this stop the reds were biting. We caught our limit in short order. Capt Heath was looking a bit disappointed with the trout not biting and ensured our day did not go without a catch. When the fish finally started biting he ensured we had our fill. Thanks Capt Heath for a great morning on the water.
