Really enjoyed the day. Was hoping to target marlin and tuna but the water temperature was not warm enough for them. We bottom bashed for snapper instead and caught plenty.
I was a bit disappointed to see plastic bags (from the bait) were thrown overboard at the end of the trip. Especially when there was a bin 2 metres away. But in saying that, I would happily fish with these guys again!

Thank you Geoff for choosing to fish with us and sharing your experience. Yes, it is unfortunate that the plastic bags ended up in the water. The captain and crew will be reminded to be mindful of plastic bags being put in the water to preserve sea life for future fishing.

Main asset was a very knowledgeable and experienced Capt Bob, who has a bright and cheerful disposition with bucketloads of infectious enthusiasm. If you value fishing with someone who enjoys fishing, this is your man. My family of 6 ranging in age from 15 to 78 had a great time and he interacted very well across the generations. Don’t get me wrong, this is as serious as a fishing charter gets, with adequate equipment for big fish. The boat while fast, stable and suitable is not in as good a condition as you might expect in more developed localities. I would recommend Capt Bob if you want a good fishing experience. Tight lines!

The captain originally tried to cancel our trip stating weather would be bad- A quick check of the weather found that to be untrue. We advised him we would still like to continue with the trip.
Upon arrival to the boat he asked if we would rather island hop or snorkel- We told him no and that we wanted our day to be full of deep sea fishing. The person in our group in charge of paying went to pay the captain and was forced to pay an additional $100USD. They went along with this so the 6 of us could go on our trip.
We set out and began fishing within the hour- depths were less than 200FT. We caught 1 very small fish. Then the captain decided it was time to pull the lines in and he took us to another location to “deep sea fish”. When we got to the spot they started handing out normal fishing poles for us to just drop to the bottom of the ocean (this is not deep sea fishing). Next thing we know the captain is sitting on the back of the boat casting a line. We sat in this spot catching normal sized fish and being extremely bored. Several of us asked 4+ times when we would be trolling again and the captain essentially ignored us. We asked when we would be leaving for a better spot and the captain just kept saying soon. He was just letting the clock tick and wasting our money. At one point the captain went back to the top of the boat and we thought he was going to take us somewhere…NO! He went to SLEEP!!!
After finally getting him to wake up and agree to take us trolling again he turned the boat back towards home and allowed the crew to put lines out. We caught exactly 1 more fish and he told the crew to bring the lines in and we were taken back to the dock.
I have been on numerous deep sea fishing trips all over the world and this was by far the worst experience. Not due to the lack of catching fish but due to the horrible captain.
I would NOT recommend anyone book with the captain.

We appreciate your time writing this review. It was unfortunate that you folks didn’t catch any big ones. Our skipper is an experienced seaman and knows his fishing well. As per our Captain’s reports, you tried game fishing with skirted lures but had no luck due to very hot weather. As an alternative when fish are not biting, we always promote our boys not to restrict but to offer more alternatives and options when one doesn’t work which you accepted and caught. However, we look forward to serve your lovely family on your next visit and hopefully weather is right on the nose. FYI - we made further arrangements with your resort getting your fish cooked up while you were traveling back . We hope you enjoyed your catch .

Captain Bob picked us up from Sigatoka where we were staying and took us to Denarau where we boarded the Zikr and headed straight out trolling as we went. To be fair the fish weren’t really biting on the lures but we caught a barracuda and had a couple get off also we managed a 20 kg G.T on the popper thanks to Bob’s keen eye. He then took us to a spot where we went bottom fishing and caught snapper, coral trout and other various bottom fish. We then stopped at Malolo island for lunch and after had a magic snorkel on one of the nearby reefs. All in all we had a great time and special thanks to Isaacii champion deckhand/snorkelling assistant/fish feeder. I would recommend them in a heartbeat.
