We were fishing from 8am-3pm. 14 redfish,ย 6 trout and 15 misc. the John boat is small but perfect for getting into the shallows where the good reds are. Capt Joeโs knowledge and experience really paid off. I have fished this area for more than 10 years and this was the best experience I have had.
A great trip, these guys know how to fish. We also broke off some big stingrays and a shark that were too big for 12-pound spin tackle. The weather was perfect. Biggest redfish was 30 inches, released in good shape.
The trip was great from start to finish. Captain Joe is full of local knowledge, and knows where all the good spots are. We had a great time with him and would do it again anytime.
Another day in Paradise. 20 trout of which 8 were kept. Lots of ladyfish. Five Spanish mackerel up to 3 1/2 pounds. Six upper slot redfish, the biggest 30 inches, released. All caught on artificials, except for the redfish. These guys worked over the fish.
Captain Joe is the best!ย He put us on all kinds of fish - especially Redfish and Trout!ย We canโt wait to go back and fish with Joe next year.ย KS
Yes, it was a good day. Ideal weather. Water a little murky, Hardly another boat out there, launched at 7 a.m. Karl and his wife fished hard and we came in around lunch time before it got hot. Hardly raised a sweat, until it was fish cleaning time.
Lou and I wanted to fish shallow coastal water grass. I find it way more interesting then deep sea fishing. Neither of us really have much experience fishing. Joe was like the old man in the sea. He has a day full of great spots to fish. You can even eat lunch on a little island. I suggest bringing sandwiches and beer. Lou didnโt really know how to cast well. Joe was super patient and got us both going. In the end lou caught the most fish. Joe is a worldly guy, that was fun to talk too. I couldnโt have asked for a better day on the water. It is a romantic place I recommend it to anyone that is interested in fishing. Good luck
