Several Mahi and a large Striped Marlin before 10:00, but the action dropped off as the sun got up. The crew remained focused through the heat (many crews don’t). The boat was clean and the gear was in good condition. Captain Juan and Luis were very engaging and really full of energy. Overall, one of the best crews that our family had over the last 20 years. The Marlin was 150 pounds, put up a 35 minute fight and was boated, photographed, and released. We will hire the Blue Tail on our next visit.

Hi Tom, thank you so much for your perfect review, hope too see you again
Great trip. Our day started slow; 6 1/2 hours with no action. The crew kept changing up bait and lures and doing what they could to create opportunities. We hooked into a large sailfish and landed it early afternoon. Captain stopped to show us dolphin pods, turtles and los Arcos for photos on the way in. Service was good. Boat was clean. We had plenty of gear. The crew worked hard to get the fish to bite. Sack lunch was good. I would go out with these guys again. We also did the transportation add on. Service was worth the upgrade. Driver was on call to our schedule and arrived in a nice suburban.

Hello Michael, thank you very much for your review, i am happy to know that you enjoyed our fishing trip, we hope to see you again soon.
We had a nice day despite the fish not biting much. We ended up with a couple of Mackerels and a couple Dorados. I was impressed with how well the captain navigated the rough seas. The boat was spotless, and he had a feet sanitizing station and plenty of hand sanitizer to protect against Covid. They also had masks pulled up whenever we were within 6’ of each other. The money was well spent based on other boats charging extra for items that are included with this price. Thx for the fun day Captain!

Took my 2 sons, 17 and 10 yo. We met early and left early and after picking up bait trolled for Marlin for nearly 5 hrs. Juan and his deckhand Luis worked hard with multiple spreads, baits, squid imitations in various sizes and colors and various trolling speeds and patterns. Our only strike was a sea lion. I did not sense this was due to lack of effort or technique. The crew worked hard and changed presentations multiple times. I didn’t see any other boats hooked up and at the end of the day did not see any Marlin flags up on other vessels as we returned to harbor. The highlight of the week however was the end of the day. I sensed that Juan really hoped to get my boys some fish so before returning to harbor we backed into a point on the Pacific side and fished for Red Snapper with live bait in surf crashing on exposed structure. We could sight cast to the snapper as they rose and Luis was busy managing our lines and rebaiting hooks on the rolling deck. We boated 6 or 8 red snapper in 20-25 min and had at least twice that many strikes that were lost. It was a hoot and I sensed exciting for the crew as well. The experience will not be soon forgotten and I am grateful to Juan and Luis for the extra time and effort.
