Our family had a blast fishing with Captain Jim n Gina, just simply awesome people!  But I have to admit things started off a little rocky, actually 3ft to 4ft swells ROCKY!  The sea was angry that day and it wasn’t taking prisoners, we actually saw a half sunken Cuban refugee row boat and got pulled over by the fish police!  But we’ll save that for later!
  So after battling swells for 20 to 30mins all while standing up and holding onto the port rail (left side) and bimini frame we finally get out to the reef just in time to see the commercial fishermen leaving w/a big thumbs down!  So I’m thinking great, we’re not catching anything today!  But it was sunny and no real wind for the first time in about a week and our 1st charter we booked only 2 days prior had to cancel due to rough seas!  So I’m thinking this trip is doomed to FAIL, but little did I know that the Captain was for real when he told me a month prior on an hour long phone call, which was past his usual bed time of 9:30pm sharp, “all I care about was making sure you catch fish and having fun!” I’m like yeah right, anything to secure a sale, whatever! 
So leys fast forward 3.5 to 4hrs and 4 spots later, including a trip outback and to the bridge twice, we’re finally putting keepers in the boat and having a blast!  I think we caught just about every different kind of snapper in the ocean and a few other species to boot!  We even saw an eagle ray jump 10ft out of the water!  So between the rough opening ride, super slow early bite, we finally have dinner, and the local restaurant (Big Pine Rooster) that Capt. Jim n Gina recommended to us really knocked it out of the park, so good! 

If read nothing else but this, you can’t go wrong by choosing Reel Therapy for awesome service and friendliness!  Once again, thank you Captain my captain and 1st mate Gina for so much needed “Reel Therapy “!

A great experience from beginning to end Captain Jim was very patient and helpful with a couple of rookies. He was extremely accommodating and we had great fishing. It was wonderful going out of big pine key and really enjoyed our time. Would love to go with Captain Jim again, anytime.

Our trip consisted of me, my wife and 15 year old son. Cpt Jim made us feel like we went fishing with a friend. Unlike other charters we have taken, Cpt Jim allowed us to be a part of things. We caught fish, 6 keepers each and several more we didn’t keep. However the trip was more than that. Cpt Jim was very personable, friendly and patient. We ended the day with Cpt Jim showing our son how to filet fish and allowed him to filet the bull Mahi he caught.

This trip was a bucket list trip for our nephew who heads to college in the spring and Capt. Jim made it a wonderful memory for us! We talked before had and made sure he knew what kind of fishing we wanted to do so he tailored the day to our wants. When we came aboard, he was already stocked with various types of live bait so we were prepared for everything. And we caught… everything! Jacks, Snapper, Spanish Mackeral, Spotted Sea Trout, and even a Spinner Shark and 3 Goliath Grouper! We kept only what we planned to eat and when we got back Capt cleaned and fileted it for us to take home for dinner. We’ve chartered many boats throughout the Keys and Capt Jim is definitely one of the best. A Capt can make or break a day on the water and he gave us a spectacular day. We were on the fish all day while chatting and laughing. We already can’t wait to go out with him again. Thank you again Capt. Jim for a very memorable and fun day!

OMG….this was/is an experience neither my husband, “McFly”, my sister, “Liz Taylor” and myself will ever forget and we will talk about it for a long time to come. We woke up in Marathon, FL to a heavy rain storm that was still going strong an hour before our trip out of Pine Key with Captain Jim. After talking to Captain Jim, we pushed the trip back an hour and we were finally able to go out fishing! We tried going to the reef but it was rough enough to bounce you up from your seat so we made the group decision to head for the Gulf side. We caught so many fish we lost count of the kinds but the ones we do remember are as follows (forgive me if I misname any): Mangrove Snapper, Mutton Snapper, Yellowtail Snapper, Permit Fish, Sand Perch. Mackerel, Sea Trout, Catfish, Jack Crevalle, Grouper, tons of Lady Fish and many others we can’t quite remember the names, though Captain Jim told us what they were. So many fish but the best was the 2 Lemon Sharks, 1 my sister caught & the other my husband caught & the baby Goliath Grouper (maybe 60 pounds) that I caught with the help of the guys. This seriously was beyond what we expected for a fishing trip. We laughed ourselves silly for goofing up casting and not reeling in correctly. We fought hard with the bigger fish and went home with enough fish filets to satisfy our need.
Captain Jim knew where to go to make it available to catch fish. You’re never guaranteed to catch, but on this day, we certainly did. I attached just a few of the photo’s we took.

Captain Jim, if you read this, we all want you to know that this trip with you was our highlight of the 6 day vacation to the Keys. You are extremely knowledgeable and you treated us with utmost respect while firmly teaching us the ways of fishing in the Gulf. We were very tuckered out when we got home and all but McFly woke up the next day pretty sore in the muscles, but in a good way. We all can’t thank you enough for making this fishing trip so memorable. We will never forget you Captain Jim!!
