Captain Gill and mate Eddy were great. I sensed the two possessed a great wealth of fishing knowledge and did the best they could with the gear provided to them. Jokes were made about saving hooks due to budget. Had I known the higher ups were choking funds for fishing gear I would have brought some of my own gear to help.
The boat was clean and very pleasant to lounge on. We did have one break down at sea but from what I understand it was a trivial problem and captain Gill handled the issue expertly.
Iโd recommend fishing with captain Gill and first mate Eddy again. However, I do strongly recommend double checking the fishing reports, possibly bring some extra gear, and be aware Conchenstein is an old boat.
The photo is of our catch from a 3/4 day trip. We hooked some baraccuda earlier in the day but all keepers were caught in the last hour of fishing. Again, always double check the fishing reports. If reports dont look good I recommend rescheduling for another time during your vacation.

I brought my 2 teenage sons fishing on 7/1/19. Edward, the first mate worked SO HARD for us. We had a great time!ย The only thing I wouldโve done differently is done a full day charter!ย Next time!!!ย They wonโt disappoint!
The Day started out slow, no one was catching but our captain didnโt give up. kept moving and changing gear until he got the right combination to assure a successful trip all in all we had a great trip with 1 barracuda 1 mackerel and 8 tuna on the boat. Our first mate was first rate, sorry cant remember his name. would highly recommend this trip to anyone looking for some offshore fishing experience
The crew were extremely friendly and nice guys. The boat is a bit aged along with the equipment. We wanted to go out for muttons, mangrove, hogfish and yellowtail but were told we were going out to the edge of the reef for sailfish which we had no interest in at all. We split the boat with another family which had never gone out to sea and I doubt they specifically asked for sail fish. The first mate said we were going out for sailfish and that it was a risk and we might get skunked. I was disappointed before even stepping foot on the boat with that news but when splitting a boat I guess you donโt get to choose what you want to fish for so live and learn. The seas were moderately rough and almost the entire other family were very sick from the waves. We managed to hook into two tunas or similar sized fish when the line got tangled with the downrigger line and just as the captain yelled to the first mate, โdonโt cut the wrong line,โ he cut the wrong line and we came home skunked. The crew were really nice guys but I feel they need another year out to get more experienced.

Was a great day but had to stop at 4 hrs instead of 6 hrs due to rough seas. However the crew was great and the fishing was sporty!! Hard working crew and tasty fish!
