We arrived at the beach to meet the water taxi to take us to the boat that best describes how we would feel at the end of the trip. The water taxi took us to the boat named SATISFACTION .We didn’t know what to expect But coming from Florida means we arent new to fishing. Everything from talking to the owner before the trip, to meeting Captain Yermey and the team David and Bradley.  They spoke good english and was solely focused on putting us on fish.  After some intense trolling we struck fish gold with frigate birds working and a Log loaded with Mahi.
We caught and kept 18 fish and put back about the same amount before he signaled to sister boats to join in on the fun.  We had plenty of drinks and fresh cut pineapple… and for lunch we had a fresh mahi sushimi with all the fixins…
As a guy who has fished from San Diego for Blue-Fin to the Florida keys this ranked in my top 5 for catch,  comraderie, and just fun with the fellas… If you want.

Captain Ron and his amazing 3 person crew were fantastic. By far the best day of fishing I have ever had in Costa Rica. We met Ron at 615am on Herradura beach. Ron is one of the only American captains working the area.  After a 45 minute cruise on his comfortable boat we had lines in the ocean. The crew- led by Yermy and his mates Pepe and Brad, were constantly working the many lines to make sure we were ready to catch fish.  And catch fish we did. 10 sailfish and one massive bull mahi-mahi.  We had action the entire day. The mates made sure we were always getting the fish to the boat. Extremely helpful. Captain Ron didn’t follow the other boats but charted his own path to the fish. He had a sixth sense as to where the fish were.  The bull mahi-mahi was an incredible 69” long and 82lbs. It took us almost 45 minutes to get it on the boat.  Ron skillfully managed the boat and crew to make sure we caught this fish and all the sails.  The crew took first class care of us with an incredible fruit breakfast, lots of cold drinks, and a fantastic lunch of chicken and rice.  Couldn’t have been better. The boat was very comfortable with nice shaded seating down below and you can also join Ron up in the tower where he operates the boat and spots all the fish. Our day continued until past 4pm when we caught our last 2 sailfish on our way back to Heradura beach.  5 stars all the way.  I am from Cape Cod and Jupiter florida so I know good fishing charters. Ron and his extremely hard working crew are one of the very best.  Ron even personally drove us back to our hotel in his brand new truck. First class all the way.  Don’t hesitate in booking as his schedule is always busy.  Incredible trip with a fantastic captain and crew!

We just spent the day on the water with the American Charters crew and had a blast with my wife my kids.
  We started the morning off with a quick run out to the spot and hooked into 2 sail fish in the first 40 minutes. From there we followed our sight and got on some Tuna in a feeding frenzy that filled the boat, we stopped fishing so as not to take more then our share.
  The crew and captain were an absolute blast to fish with very helpful and made us up a fruit bowl for a snack that was awesome then fed us lunch then sliced up some fresh Tuna Sashimi to top off the trip meals.
Definitely go see them for the adventure of a life time PURA VIDA🤘

The captain speaks fluent english.
This is very rare in Costa Rica.
The crew often consisted of two and sometimes even 3 mates all very knowledgeable and very nice .They can’t do enough for you.
Empanada , wraps ,chips and dips , watermelon and pineapple sliced without you having to ask
. If you look like you need a drink it’s provided.

We told the captain we wanted to catch Mahi and then bottom fish for tile fish and grouper .
Final tally for our 7 am to 2 pm trip was
4 Mahi , 2 tile fish, 4 grouper , 2 Rosie’s , and a skipjack -bonito which is a very rare cross between a skipjack tuna and a bonito .
All and all just a great day
Very minor engine issue was fixed by the mechanically adept captain and crew while we were still catching fish .
No time wasted .
My only regret in giving this captain and crew my highest recommendation is that it may increase his popularity making him less available to us .
But then it wouldn’t be fair to be selfish.
So the truth is don’t even think of booking elsewhere . This is the best captain crew and boat in Costa Rica and you will not be dissapointed .
