Booked this charter based on the description of being able and skilled at catching Rooster fish with Captain Jeff in his boat. Texted 4 different times the month before stating the Roosterfish priority to us and inquiring about the catch lately. Arrived to find a fill in Captain from Florida who was nice and found us a nice Bill and a Tuna but didn’t seem to know how or where to catch Rooster, the species we came for. Circled the same rocky point for 2 1/2 hours?! As required had to pay in cash at the end, then started texting Captain Jeff back in the states about a partial refund or some fairness since the ability to catch Rooster was misrepresented and I was given a fill in out of town Captain with seemingly little local Rooster knowledge. After 2 days and numerous texts Captain Jeff basically insulted me saying his crew said I was sloppy drunk and didn’t know what I was talking about. I had my 17 year old son with me for Pete’s sake !! Please. I hired another wonder boat 2 days later who fish up and down the coast and we put 5 great roosters in the boat in less than half the time and a third of the money. No refund from Captain Jeff, no apologies for misrepresentation and lack of notification I had a fill in captain who didn’t know how to find roosters in Costa Rica .  Trust me don’t do business with this unethical man.

Two of us had booked to go out on 12/29 on the Miss Behavin, but some mechanical problems caused them to switch us to the Predator at the last minute. All worked out well, however, and Sara Young with the charter company did an excellent job of communicating. Caught two very large sailfish, and had a good time and a beautiful day for fishing overall. Will go out again.

I would say this was A GREAT TRIP!!! Would recommend it entirely.

Caught plenty of fish but a lot of friction between captain and mate made for stressful trip.
