This is a long post, but I want to show my appreciation:
I contacted Captain Jesse the week before the trip to easy my mind. I was surprising my boyfriend with a fishing trip for his birthday and wanted to know a little bit more about the experience. (My boyfriend is blind and I wasnโt sure how to go about it). Captain Jesse responded the same day and was easy to talk to. He calmed any anxiety I had and was more than happy to takes us.
I chose an in-shore trip on a Monday. It rained the night before, but I couldnโt have asked for a better experience. We tried a couple spots and I appreciated the fact we werenโt fishing around a bunch of other boats. I also liked that we were able to move around and try different areas.
Captain Jesse supplied the licenses, fishing bait, and needed supplies. We were able to keep our belongings dry in a storage area.
He was extremely knowledgeable, kind, and professional. My boyfriend and him were able to talk about fishing in depthโฆ and yet I was felt comfortable asking those beginner questions. Captain Jesse was extremely relaxed and able to adapt to different abilities and knowledge levels.
We were lucky and caught 5-6 different types of fish which made it a trip to remember.
When asking my boyfriend what he thought, he said he couldnโt have asked for anything better. He felt as if he were treated respectfully and didnโt feel any awkward tension due to his disability. He thought Jesse was a cool guy and he said he felt the same way as if he was fishing with one of his buddies.
Moral of this long post:
Do not hesitate because of a disability, inexperience, or other anxiety. Captain Jesse is a good fit for all age, abilities, and skill levels.
Book a trip and enjoy the experience!
