Enjoyed our fishing trip. It was an awesome experience and tons of fun. We plan on doing it again real soon.
Had family in town from Wisconsin and wanted to give them a great Texas fishing experience. Captain was on time and ready to roll. Any fisherman knows it can be hit or miss on the water, our guide worked his tail off to put us on fish. Very informative, easy going, and patient. Boat was perfect for our group of 4 and equipment was top notch. Will definitely hire again in the future, possibly even for an offshore charter.
Fishing with Texas Crew’d and Captain Blake feels like fishing with a family member. From the moment you board the boat you will realize this is not your old foul mouthed grumpy captain who wants you off his boat as fast as possible. There are no long lists of rules and threats about damaging equipment. Instead, Captain Blake is the consummate professional taking time to teach you how to use the equipment and then actually letting you fish with it instead of just reeling in what he catches. He tries hard to get you where the fish are and will keep moving the boat until you find them. The boat and equipment are clean and in good shape. He is very family friendly and patient with those that are younger or inexperienced. We especially appreciated that he doesnt have the vocabulary of a sailor and I wouldnt hesitate to bring kids with you. We took two trips with the Captain. One a bay trip where we caught many nice fish. We used live shrimp and had a few problems at first keeping them on the hooks when casting. Captain Blake was very patient and kept three of us with baited hooks at all times despite our lack of technique at first and throwing a lot of the shrimp off the hooks as we casted. The Captain cleaned the fish and even bagged them into appropriate sized portions to take to a local restaurant to get cooked. We also took a flounder gigging trip, which is also highly recommended. His crew is attentive to detail and fun to be around as well. We had never been gigging before and didn’t think to bring mosquito repellent. His crewmember Jason was quick to pull out his own repellent and let us use it to protect ourselves. It may seem like a small thing but it made the trip more enjoyable and fun. Unfortunately, some unexpected bad weather cut our trip short. I was impressed with Captain Blake’s attention to monitoring the weather and quick decision to get us off the water and to safety even though the storms were initially far away. Despite the weather being out of their control Captain Blake and Jason were very apologetic and initially were not going to charge us for the trip since we had to cut it short. We insisted that we pay for at least the time and expenses we had incurred. At our request, he did bill us but he had to have lost money on the deal as what he charged us was nominal. Needless, to say Texas Crew’d has a client for life. We are already planning our next trip back!

I have fished with Captain Blake a couple of times, off-shore and in the bay. He is a very skilled boat captain and fisherman, and his deck hands are eager to get fish in the boat, change out to fresh baits, and keep leaders straight and the right length.
His boats are fast, well equipped, and the fishing rods and reels are up to date, well lined leaders are made on the fly. Catching live bait at the dock is a simple cast of the net so they are fresh out of the bay when you get your day going. The large bait wells keep ‘em fresh.
Blake is a resident of the area and has his ear to the rail on what the water and weather is doing, and where the bite is on. Fishing is fishing, but Captain Blake will make sure you have a memorable day on the water.
