First , I never thought I would get my wife out on a charter again. We took one three year’s ago out of Wisconsin rough waters and my wife and Got sick. I was hoping that doing this on Traverse bay would be a lot different for them. It was. If your worried about motion sickness. Fish the bay. Ben was a great captain. I think we had poles in the water within ten minutes. We were lucky and had our first fish on within twenty minutes. Ben asked me what I wanted to fish for,  Salmon are just starting to run but they aren’t hitting full steam yet. I just wanted the wife and kids to catch some fish. We started fishing for trout and ended up at the end going for salmon. We were one fish from limiting out. We could have gotten another trout but totally worth that last hour trying for the salmon. The trip was an absolute homerun and already figuring on another trip next year.

Ben was an awesome guide. The day started slow, but he continually tried different lures, locations, and depths until we found what was working. By the end of our trip, everyone on our boat hit their daily limit for lake trout, and he cleaned the fish right on the boat for us. I would highly recommend Ben for your next guided fishing charter.

We really enjoyed our trip with Captain Ben. There was six non fisherman in our group and I was impressed with both his organization and patience. Best of all, we caught a bunch of fish and learned while doing it. I highly recommend Captain Ben and will be visiting him again next time we’re in Traverse City.
