Gerry was a great guy, easy-going, relaxed, and wanted to make sure you enjoyed your boat ride and time on the water. Fishing was not great on this particular day, but we did get a few and it was a fun experience anyway.

We all caught fish.

We were scheduled for the 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. fishing charter. It was recommended that we switch to 6:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. After calling the Captain, he agreed that was the best time. He suggested that we get there a “little early.” My phone rang at 5:20 a.m. and a somewhat agitated Captain was calling to see where we were at. I told him we were about 10 minutes away. He told us to “hurry up.” We arrived at the dock at 5:31 a.m. and he and his Co-Captain didn’t greet us very well. They were clearly annoyed that it took my father in law (who is 89) to get on the boat. Neither of them said “hi”, or told us their names or said anything other than to move out of their way . For the first 30 minutes it was nothing but silence. I asked the Co-Captain if they had music and she said no. Neither of them talked to us until the very end. I’m not even kidding. We didn’t know their names, know where we were going, didn’t know where anything was on the boat. We sat there like school children that were being penalized for speaking out of turn. There were lawn chairs for chairs in the cabin. We went in circles not far from the lift bridge the entire time. We caught 3 fish, which was the definite highlight. They were good about filleting the fish. Our biggest disappointment was their demeanor the entire trip. When we were leaving is when the Captain started talking to us. I almost asked to go back to dock after an hour as the first 2.5 hours was very uncomfortable for all of us.
