This was my first time ever on Lake Erie and Captain Clarence helped me prepare ahead of time to make sure I didn’t get sea sick. We went for my boyfriends birthday and we had a blast. Captain Clarence was disappointed that we didn’t catch a lot but for us it was a great day fishing and we have enough walleye to go home and have a birthday fish fry! We talked to people coming off the lake that hadn’t been “skunked” on Lake Erie in 45 years but they were today. It was a tough day for all the fishers on the lake so that was is no way our Captain’s fault. We were on top of fish all day long, they just didn’t want to bite. We are very happy with what we left with. Captain Clarence is VERY knowledgeable, respectful and welcoming. I highly recommend a charter with him! We will be going back.

Fun, exciting and truly unique. Captain Clarence and his first mate were so knowledgeable, kind, generous, patient, friendly and welcoming that it made my father and I comfortable, relaxed and feel as if we were out with relatives and friends fishing. We’d just met. They had a great understanding of the style of fishing, the area, the equipment and how to treat people. Could not recommend enough. Several points I thought we’d be drowning in fish because they knew where and how the fish will bite. They did. Thanks for making Father’s Day memorable.

The captain made my kids feel like he was an on-call. He educated him how to fish walleye and made my little girl feel like part of the crew.

Caught some large Lake Erie Walleye today on the Bugeye. Captain Clarence and First Mate John knew the Lake and right where to go. They had us on fish in no time! I would highly recommend Bugeye Charters and Captain Clarence out of Sheffield Lake in the future to my family and friends!

We couldn’t have asked for a better Captain,  he explained everything as he was doing it and why. He is a Christian man and we shared experiences while trolling. He and his dad just good people we are already planning the next trip.He got excited with us when we caught a fish, to me that really matters, it says that it’s his passion not his job. Clarence and his dad are like family members by the end of the trip Just Good People.
