The day started off great. We caught some early fish (bonitas and a tuna mackerel) and started after the roosterfish. Unfortunately, the windy season lived up to its name and we had to terminate our trip early because of seasickness. I’m sure we would have had continued success.

Captain Jose and First Mate Luis were knowledgeable and very accommodating. i would definitely recommend these guys and look forward to fishing with them again.

Had a great day of fishing with the family. We were worried about the red tide but our crew brought us far enough out and knew exactly where to look. We ended up with 5 tuna and even caught (and released!) a sailfish! Great day on a perfect boat!

We were greeted by the Captain and Mate. They both were pleasant and gave us some knowledge of what was planned for the day. We headed out to the ocean and they quickly started a game plan and put out some lines and almost immediately the reals were screaming. We got a HUGE Mahi Mahi and several other smaller ones, they also got a Marlin on the line but I think I pulled to hard and broke him off. We also had several sailfish. Overall we couldn’t of asked for a better crew and the boat was also very sound and clean.

I’ve charted numerous boats in Costa Rica. I’ve had the most success on Papi Chulo. The captain is very knowledgeable of the local waters. I caught a 350 lb Marlin, many large Mahi’s, Tuna and sailfish. I’ve been out with them several times now and will continue. It’s a great deal and the captain and crew enjoy a good time.
