Our son Memphis has wanted to go out on “Big water” for the longest time. He’s been fishing since he was 2 yrs old with his older sisters, and parents. His birthday always falls after school is out for the year. Now, with the covid-19 situation. Having a party is pretty much out of the question unfortunately. So my wife decided to book a day with Big Kahuna Charters. We are by no means wealthy people. But we work hard, and somehow my wife managed to line up hotel, days off work, and a good buddy of ours to join us. We are from ft Wayne IN and it was a 5 hour drive to get there. With a 6 yr old. The guys welcomed us on the boat line they had known us our whole lives. They hooked 12-16lb lake trout left and right. We spent a day with a couple great guys. Caught our limit. Came back to shore sunburned and exhausted from all the reeling and tugging. The cost was really far less expensive than I had imagined. And in our opinion…we’ll worth it. We would’ve paid double for that good time. Memphis celebrated his 7th birthday by catching a 16lb fish. You can’t ask for more than that. He said it was the best day of his life. We will definitely be back.
