We left out of Surf City at 7am on a beautiful, crisp September morning. First we left the inlet to troll for Spanish mackeral. We caught 10 - 12 keepers, and the wind /surf was a little rough so we headed in to try for flounder or drum. Captain Mike tried several of his usual spots, but they just werenโt biting. Could be the spots were fished pretty hard over Labor Day weekend. We did land a nice flounder and a nice size drum. Weather finally caught up with us as storms rolled in after noon. Captain Mike went above and beyond to make our trip enjoyable. We had a great time and his efforts were very much appreciated. Hope to try again next fall !
