I want to start off by Saying I am a captain for Tahoe Sport Fishing in South Lake Tahoe. When booking this trip it says that they provide free transportation that is not true The captain had other guests text me asking me if I wanted to meet up with them so we could share a cab I also was not offered any drinks or snacks. The boat was very small that captain said he has 3 boats and brought the small one because there was only 3 of us fishing which might have been fine but the captain brought 2 other crew members that pretty much fished for us and took up all the room on the back deck going into the trip the captain new the weather would not be good but still brought the small boat to save money on gas say that we were going to fish in a smaller areas where a smaller boat is easier to maneuver witch would be fine but we were in the middle of the bay. We fished for probably no more then an hour total always driving to another spot. Eventually we needed to go get gas which probably should’ve been taken care of before the trip and not on my dollar but we went got gas which took probably about an hour total and our way back from getting gas We’re leaving the marina in the low oil alarm was going off on his motor he was trying to play it off that it was nothing but he had no extra oil onboard like I said before I am also a captain I have my own boats and I know what that is so I knew he was lying Then he said we were going to stop at another spot and drop some lines which never happened because once we left the marina the wind had picked up And without saying anything he went straight back to the marina me and one of the other guys had to sit on the front of the boat which once again was real small and got soaking wet also didn’t help that it was cold when we got back to the marina he said sorry there’s nothing I can do about the weather that’s fishing we are back the doc about 1030 or 11 So an eight hour trip turned into four hours and we probably only fish for an hour hour and a half he knew that I was leaving the next day still trying to offer me to go out with him the next day for free knowing and I couldn’t. Still had to pay the full amount. After paying him and been soaking wet me and the other guests had a call and Uber to get back to Manhattan between me and the other group we spent $150 on transportation which was not right . My reasoning for not getting back to you guys sooner was because I’m not one to write a bad review being I come from the same business. Each one of us caught a fish I think once that happened the captain was satisfied and figured he could throw in the towel which is not fair we paid our money for an eight hour trip and did not get even half of that!  I can try and give him the benefit of the doubt and say maybe it was just a bad day but I would not recommend this to anyone else which is hard for me to say!

There was no bathroom on the boat , my girlfriend had to go in a cup. The captain talked to us like we were little kids that he was taking out for free instead of respecting us as paying customers. We had 62 fish and we were supposed to get 31 fish and only ended up getting 19 fish , cheated us out of 12 fish. He gave my girlfriend a hard time when she was trying to fish.

The price is cheap, but don’t be fooled, the captain has some serious issues. He will criticize and complain about everything you do the entire trip. Never shuts up and just lets you fish.

Pay a bit more elsewhere and avoid being stuck in the boat with this a***** for 5 hours.
