Thank you for your review!  I’m sorry that your experience with us was not what you expected.  Again, I would like to truly apologize for striking the sandbar early into our trip.  This is definitely something that I hate happened and I feel terrible. I would also like to say that if anyone had told me that they were injured at that time, I would have ended the trip and made sure that you were taken back to the dock safely.  This was not communicated to me until the end of the day, after we had fished and spent the morning and afternoon on the boat.  I’m rather taken back by the notion of your party not catching any fish.  We caught fish that day…..I wish they had been big enough for you to keep but I cannot guarantee the size of the fish.  Also, I didn’t just want to divert from the trip to go get food as written… I was offering your party another option since it was decided to stay inshore.  This is another package that I offer where I take customers to the Thunderbolt dock and walk to the local establishment as a way of experiencing a day on the boat along with great local cuisine.  I wanted to make your day special.  I tried my best.  It was also the decision of the party at the end of the day to not give any pay whatsoever for the trip, because of running up on the sandbar where at the end of the trip I was told that two people in the party were hurting.  This was not mentioned to me during the 8 hour trip.  I agreed and shook hands when your party decided that you would not give any pay at the end of the day for the charter, but I would like to say that I did provide everyone with a whole day of fishing and offered other options to try to provide your party with a fun time.  I apologized for running up on the sandbar at which time it was not made known to me that anyone was hurt or unhappy.  I don’t think that it is right to go on a charter and choose not to pay at all for the services unless you have clearly voiced that you are unhappy or hurting.  I tried to be very accommodating and was met with zero pay in the end, which was a surprise to me because there was no mention of dissatisfaction until we were off of the boat.  In the future, I will pay better attention to the lay of the land because I am truly sorry for the mishap.  I will also reconsider having my clients pay at the end of the trip, because after a whole day of riding on the boat and catching fish and doing my best to turn something that started out rocky into a nice day for your party, I truly don’t feel like I deserved absolutely no pay.  The trip should have ended after striking the sandbar if you were hurting and unhappy instead of waiting until the end of the trip to indicate your concern.  I hope you find a better experience in the future with another captain should you choose to go on another charter, because being out on the water truly is a rewarding experience.
