My boyfriend and I booked this charter for five hours. We got a little lost on the way there when a taxi dropped us off at the wrong location, and they were nice enough to find us and walk us to the actual dock. So although we started a little late, we were thankful they were able to help us find our way around.
The captain of our ship was great, and he helped us a lot as this was our first time fishing! The captain was super knowledgable, told us about what type of fish we were looking for and would explain what we caught. He knew exactly where to look for all of the fish. You should definitely pack some snacks, dramamine, water and sunscreen though, but if you don’t they offer to stop at a little store.
On our trip we caught a total of seven fish—two rooster fish, a needle fish, three bonitas, and one fish that I forgot the name of. We threw back the rooster fish and the needle fish back after we caught them, but the rooster fish were beautiful (see picture).
Once we arrived back they pointed us to a restaurant that would cook our fish seven ways. It was an amazing lunch and felt even better since we caught the fish ourselves.
Overall, we both had a blast. Highly recommend booking with this charter! Once we go back we will book with them again.
Bonus: After we were done there was a sea lion at the dock. The captain put our unnamed fish on the dock and had the sea lion jump up! That was pretty nice bonus!
