The first thing that struck me was the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by capt. Juan and deck hand Joel. The friendly guides greeted me with genuine enthusiasm, making me feel like a valued guest from the start. I told them to decide and to go after whatever was biting. We started with trolling, and after 45 minutes we had a double hook up with two striped marlin. We landed both after a great fight and release them, to fight another day. We then trolled for about another few hours with not much luck, except for eight skip jacks, that again we threw back. Looking to change things up we switch to bottom fishing for grouper. We did that for about an hour or so, and decided to troll again now around 11 o’clock we got another double hook up this time yellowfin tuna! And that was just the beginning of the frenzy. We caught limits instantly! If you want to catch fish, this is your boat very clean and great crew!

Shuttle to and from Marina set up by Juan made logistics an easy.  We had bait in the water not 10mins after leaving the dock. Seas were 4-6ft didn’t bother this boat a bit. Sunshine and a light wind made it comfortable. Trolled for about an hour, hooked up to a little skip Jack then right after a nice 7ft striped marlin. Catch and released. 30 mins after that we landed a Mahi. Determined to get my buddy a Marlin we kept on fishing. Juan and Gilbert would see the Marlin at the surface and maneuver the boat to get the bait in front of the fish. We were basically hunting Marlin, it made it so much fun and kept the energy going. They were able to get a nice 8ft Marlin on the line and we landed it. There was plenty of friendly banter from Gilbert each time we were reeling in the fish. Made the hard work fun. After we got the 2nd Marlin we kept trying for more. We didn’t pull bait out of the water till we were almost back to the marina. Such a great trip and good time. You can not go wrong fishing with Juan and Gilbert. Next trip down to Cano we be look for to our next outing with them!

When we arrived, Capt. Ismael and deck hand Joel asked what we wanted to fish for. I told them to decide and to go after whatever we had the best opportunity of catching, as this time of year is considered the “slow season”. We started the morning trolling and quickly caught 2 small skipjacks. We then went and slow trolled with a down rigger for grouper and it didn’t take long to hook up.  We had multiple bites that came off but we’re able to land 1 very nice grouper. We spent the rest of the day trolling and caught 5 small mahi throughout the day. The boat was clean, they had very nice fishing equipment, Ismael and Joel were very kind, the boat had plenty of water and beer, overall it was a good day on the water and we would fish with them again.
