Everything was really smooth with the booking and getting on board at the marina. Captain Juan got us 3 nice skipjack early. Unfortunately we let the striped marlin get away and the bite slowed down. Not at all captains fault as he was trying his best the whole day. We got to see some amazing whales and the beautiful arches along the way. Great experience overall. If you are ever fortunate enough to have the opportunity to go fishing off Cabo San Lucas, I strongly recommend booking a trip with Captain Johnny Sanchez of BlueSea sportfishing.

My wife Tricia and I (total landlubbers) had a wonderful eight-hour day on the water with Captain Johnny. Johnny knew where to fish and what bait and lures to use, both inshore and offshore.

Thanks to Johnny, we bagged two good-sized female mahi-mahi— far more than the two us could eat during our week-long stay in Cabo. Additionally, we reeled in a needle fish (fun to fight on the line), which we released.

As a memorable cap to our 15th wedding anniversary, we had the chef at our resort prepare a gourmet feast with our fresh mahi-mahi (superb!).

If we ever get back to Cabo, I’ll be making a second booking with Captain Johnny.

I’ve been on fishing trips before. So I already had average to high expectations before jumping on board with Rigo. Rigo was very professional, very accommodating, very kind, courteous and thoughtful.  Always reminding me “Take a photo???” I really wanted some good shots of the trip. I was kept well informed the entire time.  I love how educated I was during the fish. I really liked the perk of being one on one. Dedicated attention feels good and greatly increases the chances of success.  I liked the small boat.  All you need is to be able to get out there, and with the right tools (trust me there were plenty) you’ll be reeling them in in no time.  And so we did. Right off the bat, the fish came a comin. We caught about 15 fish.  I also liked that I was trusted to drive the boat.  This was strategic.  While Rigo set up the rods, I helped keeping us up to speed. Then when a bite struck, we’d trade places and I got to reel it in.

So fun.

At the end I received proper guidance about how to deliver your fish in to a restaurant that cleans, filets, and cooks your fish for you! Yes, in 7 different ways. My wife and I will be dining tomorrow night and I get to eat the fish I caught!

Can’t recommend this company enough.  It was affordable and it was fun!

Ahhhhmazing! We booked the AM half day trip. The captain was super helpful from the moment we booked.  We met the captain at the marina and were given time to grab snacks and drinks. We came in July and he warned us this isn’t fishing season (so we didn’t have very high hopes). His boat is small but spotless and perfect for 3 people. We ended up catching 3 fish. The largest being around 38-40 pounds. It took us about 35 minutes to actually reel it in and put it in the boat. The captain was super helpful and allowed us to reel and pull the fish on to the boat. We had an amazing time! I definitely recommend using this charter! We had a blast!

If I could give Mario 6 stars out of five, I would. He put us on fish within 30 minutes of leaving the dock. I wasn’t really looking for a Marlin, so we caught Spanish Mackrel (ummm delicious). After we caught our limit, we went out to deeper water looking for something bigger. Mario found us 3 different Marlin but we couldn’t get them to stay on the hook. They would hit and run before we could even grab the pole. About Noon we hooked into something big. I fought it for about 45 minutes and got it along side the boat where Mario had the leader and we let it go. What was I going to do with an eight foot Hammerhead shark? That shark was longer than the boat was wide, so I didn’t want any part of having that monster in the boat with me. Thank you Captain Mario for one of the best days fishing of my life.
