Captain Hugh was wonderful. We have little experience fishing and he was patient and taught us a lot. He took us to several locations when one seemed to stop being productive and we caught a ton of fish, mostly snapper but also a couple shark which my son loved seeing. He then filleted the fish after we docked and we had a feast at the marina restaurant where they cooked it all up for us. Would do this again in a heartbeat when we come back to Key West.

Booked this trip for my 17 y/o son who usually goes off-shore fishing in R.I. He requested Key West to fish for Tarpon. We saw so much on the 4 hour trip with Captain Zak. He brought us to various spots to find fish! The 3 of us caught mangrove snapper, my son caught a nurse shark, we had lemon shark and barracuda on the line as well. Captain Zak helped us with everything. He was awesome!
We had a great time and have good stories to tell. While we didn’t catch Tarpon, we did see them in the water. My son reminded me that’s why it’s called fishing not catching.
We will be back for Tarpon in May!

Went on a half day trip from 4:30-8:30 with Captain Zac.  We told Captain Zac our goal was to catch tarpon, but we were down to catch other fish too.  He took us to his spot to collect the live bait then we went out to catch mangrove snapper.  Captain Zac coached is up well on how to catch the snapper.  Once we got the technique down we were catching fish.  We caught 6 total.  Then Zac took us to his tarpon spot around 7:30.  My son quickly hooked into 2 tarpon.  Zac said the second one was about 100 lbs.  Zac stayed out later than our scheduled time and worked hard to hook into a tarpon.  After some good coaching from Zac I got to fight a tarpon all the way up to the boat.  Zac estimated it at 70 lbs.  Unfortunately the tarpon got off, but Zac said it was a good catch because he had the leader in his hand when it did.  Zac cleaned our snapper for us and we at it for dinner two days later.  It was great.  All in all it was a great fishing trip.  Definitely recommend easy does it fishing charter and Captain Zac.

Capt. Hugh was awesome! It was my wife’s first time on a charter and offshore as well. Hugh was patient with both of us as my only experiences of fishing has been inshore. The fish weren’t as active as we were hoping but he did his best to get us on some. We ended up in 700-800ft of water and had a blast catching tile fish using electric reels. We rounded off the day catching some yellow eye snapper and some grouper closer to the island. We had a great time and we will be contacting him again! Great Captain and great company. I really appreciated his patience and his hospitality. Thank you again Captain Hugh!
