We had a good trip! Was 4 of us that went. My wife wanted to catch her first Mahi but it was a little to rough to go out that far on that day. Captain Don still got us onto the fish. We caught a variety of fish all day till we headed back. We moved about 4 times to stay on the fish. Captain seemed very knowledgeable about the fish and conditions. Was a nice boat that seemed taken care of and poles and equipment were in fairly good shape. Overall good experience.
A few things that could have been different….
No Rods were not rigged up till we hit our first spot so that took about 20 min to just get going.
I paid for 4 people and with only the captain and no first mate usually only 2 people would fish at a time and we switched off. Sometimes just one would be fishing!
I have been out 5 times the other 3 people were first timers so I wanted them to experience as much as possible. The ladies were having a little hard time reeling in some of the fish and would loose the fish or get eaten. So the captain would step in and show them how to get em up. Well let’s just say I think the captain reeled in just as many fish as us. With only 2 poles going and the captain on one most of the time. Half my pictures are of the captain catching! I understand helping people to at least get them something to take back home but I did not pay to watch him reel em in!
Now the bathroom… It is listed as having a private bathroom on board. You get a bucket at the front of the boat and we turn around! Not a deal for the boys but the ladies were not impressed.
It’s not all about complaints just some things he can maybe work on to get his customers a better experience!
