Ethan’s the man

Great all day charter with Captain Ethan. We had some weather early on in the trip and Ethan was able to get lines in the water while we waited for the small lightning storm to pass for safety. Once we got to the Gulf Stream, we limited out on Wahoo by 1130. Then went on to bottom fish for trigger fish and caught a vermillion snapper. Ended the day in the floating grass patches to catch 2 mahi. Great all around trip, variety of fishing and enjoyable time with an experienced Captain! Will continue to book with Ethan each time we come down to OBX looking to fish!

Captain Ethan was great. He put us on the fish quickly and it was a very laid back, enjoyable trip. He was very knowledgeable and was able to get us a variety of fish. He was super friendly and engaging throughout the trip. If you’re looking for an easy going, fishing trip with the opportunity to see lots of marine life, this is the trip for you!

The morning started with a thunderstorm rolling through. Captain Ethan had the boat ready and once the weather cleared, we were underway. He immediately got us on some blue fish at the inlet. The bite was good but the seas were rough. Eventually we had to bail as some of our party weren’t feeling well. Captain Ethan quickly improvised a quick stop at an island to settle everyone’s stomachs and then we got underway to a calmer area in search of red drum. We caught an absolute beauty as well as a couple stingrays (which got the boys excited). Overall, a great trip and a great captain. Highly recommended.

My sons, step-sons, nephew, and myself really enjoyed Captain Ethan’s half day trip.  We caught several bluefish and had a great day out.  Captain Ethan suggested we look for a shark toward the end of our trip per request of my pre-teen sons.  Unfortunately, I was the only one who developed significant sea-sickness for the majority of the trip, despite using a scopolamine patch 4 hours prior to departure.  We will be back, because despite my illness, all other sailors had a wonderful time.  I’m going to use Zofran ODT and or phenergan ( which can be a little sedating), in addition to the Scopalamine patches next year.  I think that will be the best way to stave off seasickness and I recommend this combination based on experience and medical training.  Please talk to your PCP regarding these meds.  I am also impressed at how well Captain Ethan did with the 20-somethings in our group as well as my 9 and11 year old sons.It turns out that Ethan is a high school teacher, and is obviously very easily able to relate to these age groups.  He is very informative, educational, and uplifting to even the novice fisherman. I recommend his service without reservation.  You will be pleased.
