After a little glitch in the morning, Michael and his crew more than made up for it!  Great day on a great boat. Saw whales, sea lions, dolphins, a tiger shark and hammerhead, stingrays, and a sea turtle. 

Best of all we came home with a 3 foot mahi mahi fully cleaned and filleted and one of our group caught and released a 8’8” 130 pound striped marlin - bucket list item checked off!

The captain was very skilled in rougher waters and the crew was very helpful when we were bringing in our catch. They provided some great snacks and ice cold drinks.

Could not have had a better experience with the crew. We hooked up to four Mahi at once (landed 3) for an awesome start. In total, we caught 5 Mahi and a skipjack.

They made us great quesadillas for breakfast along with preparing some of the Mahi for sashimi on the ride in.

Of the 7 of us, 5 had never been on a trip like this. They all loved it and would come back in a second.

Next time we are in cabo, we will be coming back to Go Deeper.

I’ve been fishing for Marlin for decades. I’ve had a fish tail my bait, hits, but never have caught a Marlin. My belief was that everybody caught a Marlin. My Capt. told me nothing could be further from the truth. Catching a marlin is like finding a needle in a haystack. Especially if you don’t go many miles offshore. The crew, boat, and tackle on this package were first rate. If I ever go Marlin fishing again, I will go with them.

I booked an 8 hour trip with Go Deeper a few months before our vacation. Very easy and they communicated all details perfectly. Our group of 5 got to F dock right at 7am and were greeted by very friendly crew with boat running and ready to go. We motored over to the dockside store to get licenses at $23/ea and they picked up bait from a skiff in the marina.

Travelled about 20 miles out, slowing at the arco for pictures.  Spotted a Marlin fin and they immediately slowed and started casting to it and setting gear, no bites. Commercial trawler had huge operation going and many boats operating. We started heading north. Quickly hooked a double of tuna. Then nothing for a few hours as the captain hunted cold water constantly switching up lures while we ate a nice quesadilla breakfast.

After a slow morning it got exciting fast! Double hookups of striped Marlin!  We all took turns fighting them while captain and crew constantly communicated through headsets for optimum boat placement and speeds. These guys have it down pat! Caught and released both of them after pictures. Decided to start heading back and just as they’re pulling gear, another double hookup!  2 more striped Marlin! Fought them about 30-45 minutes and again pictures and release except 1 had swallowed hook too deep so they cleaned and processed.

Amazing bucket list day of a lifetime! I will be booking again!

Had a great time out on the water with Capt Rambo and his crew! They were really aggressive at making sure we got a fish on the line (changing bait frequently, keeping up a good scan, chatting with other Capts), and although it took all morning, we finally hooked at 8’6” striped marlin. Really great crew to be around and look forward to going out with them again.
