Overall we had a great day! However, we quickly learned after talking to locals our ignorance to the process was exploited. We never had a conversation about mounting options or receiving any meat from the catch during our trip. My husband and I honestly went in with the expectation we wouldn’t catch much and were supportive if we did catch anything the meat staying on the island to support local business and the crew. When my husband caught a fish of a lifetime we were so excited and overwhelmed we didn’t ask any questions or know what questions to ask, in good faith we would be guided through the process. We didn’t realize that mounting was an option for the head of the fish until after the fish was cut up to fit in the chest. We later observed a small sign that highlighted mounting options. We also were not aware we were entitled to any of the meat for a dinner to be prepared by a local restaurant. If we knew we would have taken enough for dinner and were in full support of most of the meat staying on the island and going to the crew, as it is a business and we like to support local when we can. However, we left empty handed. Overall it was a fun day and we made memories of a lifetime! It was definitely a learning experience for both of us. I would strongly encourage for people new to the process to have conversation with the crew about options for mounting and taking some of the catch so that both the crew and yourself can benefit from the trip, setting all expectations early. I would strongly recommend taking one of these trips and engage in business with crews that exhibit genuine values, professionalism, and an ethical morale. I have chartered with them twice

We went fishing this morning with captain Mike and his mate. Both were amazing. I was a bit anxious about going with my 2 year-old daughter but everything was really smooth with them. We didn’t catch a lot but they made everything for my husband to have a least one fight and he did! With a tuna and a dolphin (the dolphin won unfortunately)!

We cut short to the half day because I was feeling seasick and my daughter as well and the crew was very nice and caring with us.

Amazing experience!
