Capt Lance and his mate, Jack, were a couple of ol’ salty fellas. Nice boat with top notch gear and a lifetime of experience on the water. I am a hardcore offshore fisherman from Florida and I must say the experience on the Medusa is one my wife and I will never forget. We boated two striped Marlin and a giant spearfish. Captain let us keep as much fish as we wanted. There was plenty of room inside to rest and take it in while waiting for a strike. It was the bluest water I had ever seen and was glad we chose to go with the full day to give us more of a chance to hit the fish. Looking for a good time for a reasonable price don’t hesitate to book the Medusa with captain Lance.

As an avid mainland fisherman. I totally understand that nothing is guaranteed when fishing. Except for two things… effort and attitude! Capt. Lance and First Mate Jack did not disappoint! We had a slow morning but the time passed quickly with great conversation with Lance and Jack. And then… BOOM! The fish of a lifetime!! Not just a fish of a lifetime, a memory of a lifetime! Getting to watch your son land a 450lb Blue Marlin, surreal! Lance made the boat dance with the fish while Jack controlled chaos like a magician. If you are wondering if this is the right fishing charter, I can tell you this. It’s fishing, no charter will guarantee you fish. Lance and Jack will put the effort in to putting you on fish and are awesome people! Thank you fellas for the lifetime memory!

I can check catching a Marlin (200#) off my bucket list thanks to Captain Lance and mate Jack. Good communication. Started and returned on time. Nice boat. Lots of lines out trolling. Had some delicious pastries. Plenty of drinks. Good instruction on using the fighting chair. Captain Lance found the fish and the fight was on. Excellent boat positioning helped me reel in the fish. They held it so I could get a good picture and released it to fight another day. Caught a nice skipjack tuna and got a large fillet for a meal. I call that a perfect day.  Thanks guys!

Our first deep see fishing experience on the Medusa was a memorable one.  Although we were novices, Captain Lance and First Mate John made the event a special one for all of us, especially our grandkids.  They were both very patient with all of us and explained the process and what to expect in detail, practicing with the kids so they would be prepared.  You could easily tell that the crew loved their jobs.  During the 4 hour expedition, they were very welcoming; each shared stories about their experiences and lives.  About half the guests got a little sea sick (remember, our first deep sea fishing experience); however, the crew was very attentive and frequently checked on each of us to make sure we were okay.  Most importantly, the knowledge and skill of these two fisherman resulted in a great catch for each of the two grandkids that they can’t stop talking about.  To top it off, we ate our fresh catch for the remainder of our stay (even giving some away to neighboring guests).  I would definitely recommend a sailing on the Medusa with Captain Lance and John.  If we return to the big island, we will definitely book again.
