Capt Gonzales put us on the fish and we had a great time.  While not all of the fish we caught were keepers we did catch and release some nice fish.  The experience was worth the time and effort.  He will work hard to get you to experience the thrill of a good fish fight!

Tony was very personable and knowledgeable. He worked steadily making sure all lines were repeatedly baited and watched to make sure we didn’t miss any bites. We even got some impromptu history lessons. All in all, a fun day.

Captain Tony was awesome. He put on fish, but more importantly, he was patient and easy going with my wife and kids. I would recommend him to anyone looking to book a fishing trip and will definitely be using him in the future.

We were three related adults from Canyon Lake and Fulshear who booked a full day with Tony for 07/12/23. We met at 6:15am at the ramp across from Big Tree Cottages and launched soon after. We fished 4-5 spots known to Tony in the bay, hoping to get trout and redfish. We caught many catfish and a few gar, but also 3-4 trout including a very nice 21” which we boarded and a nice bull redfish (both are pictured) and a couple more nice redfish which were just a bit undersized and released. We were busy most of the day catching fish and Tony took good care of us, handling bait (abundant live and sectioned croakers) and chum (shrimp) and our lines and equipment. Tony brought plenty of bait, and I suggest you ask about bait before booking with any guides in these waters, as the gar, crabs and catfish will eat most of it. We had a great time and recommend Tony as well as the St Charles and Copano grounds for a good day of fishing. My wife (pictured with her red) caught her first saltwater fish (she was thrilled) and my son, an experienced freshwater fisher, caught 2-3 reds and a speckled trout. I was a charter mate and 6+ licensed captain from an Atlantic Florida port as a young man but don’t know these waters, the fish, baits, etc so benefited enormously from our guide. We returned exhausted about 2pm.

Captain TG was more than expected. His knowledge of the fishing spots, having the right gear, and his enthusiasm for being a fishing guide made the day worth every penny. Book him for sure!
