My wife and I didn’t have any luck fishing but we still had a good time. We went out for a full day.  As they say “that’s fishing.”  Rob and Steve are real pros and were really working hard and attempting various approaches to catch something -  Ono, Marlins, etc. but it wasn’t meant to be. At the end Rob felt so bad that he offered us some fresh Ono that was caught the day before.  Needless to say we Rob went beyond the call of duty and we had a delicious dinner.  What else can you ask for.  Overall, nice day. 
Valerie, the boat owner was very responsive and easy to communicate with.  Overall I highly recommend this boat.

The family had a special experience the Ohana Crew, catching (1) Ono (7) Mahi and a 120 lb. Ahi. It was an awesome day out on the water, that my family will cherish in their hearts forever. I would highly recommend this charter, the entire staff is so friendly and accommodating especially the owner of the Ohana, Valerie thank you for all the snacks.

Captain Steve was great.  We caught a marlin!  The only thing I would say is the way they handled the catch (it was advertised that you could keep it). Was shady.  After my friend who lives in Hawaii told me to sell it at the harbor he told me that you couldn’t do that without a permit. When we got back to the dock he said I couldn’t have a steak because he already sold it. I’m quite sure he didn’t have a permit…I really didn’t care but I thought the way they treated us and handled that was suspect.  They sold our 110 lb marlin for 5-6 dollars a pound and acted like it was theirs….

Had a great time fishing with crew of the Ohana. My son in law cought his first Marlin on the trip. Crew was very knowledgeable and friendly and worked hard at putting us on the fish. My good friend just couldn’t bring it home. 😂

Had a great time with Dave and John and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a positive experience out of the West side of the Big Island. 

Fishing isn’t always catching but I am super thankful that we were able to land one even if it initially spit the hook.  Dave did a great job of teasing the fish to strike again and was able to ensure that my friend was able to land a good sized Ono.

Overall the boat was smooth, gear worked well, and it was a beautiful day to cruise on the Pacific.
