If you are looking to book a fishing trip in Port Canaveral then look no farther than the Patriot.  We had such an amazing time celebrating my sons 14th birthday with Captain Tony.  He was incredible with the kids and immediately put us on fish.  Our arms were tired all afternoon from reeling in catch after catch.  The kids have been reliving the trip all evening and posting their catches on instagram and fishbrain.  We are so very grateful for Captain Tony’s expertise and hospitality.  We will definitely be on the catch again very soon with the Patriot and highly recommend this charter!!

At first I wasn’t so sure I had made a good choice, We had come down from Daytona Beach, Not to far from leaving the dock I started to change my mind.
Captain Tony is up to date on what is biting and where, After being out for a while and a few caught, Capt. Tony realized that our family could handle the fishing and started letting us hook the fish, under his supervision, It could not have been a more perfect day, I will have memories for life, THANK YOU CAPTAIN TONY !!! I am sure we will see you again.

Previously when my wife and I had gone fishing, we went with big groups of people that only had three deckhands to help out. This was our first private charter fishing experience. It was awesome. We originally had set out for a full day of fishing. We were greeted by Captain Tony and shown where the life jackets and the restroom were. Then, we set out. It took around an hour and twenty minutes to get to the first fishing spot. During that time, my wife decided to take a nap. He kept double checking with me asking if she was okay. When we got there, he hooked and baited three rods. On our previous trips, we had to bait our own rods. He did that here and was keeping an eye on all three.  Within half an hour of being at the first spot, one of the rods started going. He got it started and then handed the pole to me. I caught a King Mackerel. This is by far the biggest fish we have ever caught. Not much else bit at that spot. He was keeping in contact with other captains and seeing how their fishing was going. Captain Tony gave the impression that he normally catches more in that short span of time. We went to another spot about twenty minutes away. In that spot, my wife caught a Remora. Remora are not good eating, so we threw it back. It happened twice where my wife got a hold of the reel and then it went slack from a fish taking the whole hook with it. We went to one more spot. There, my wife caught and released a Red Snapper. Since Red Snapper are not in season, we were unable to keep it. Biggest fish my wife has ever caught. We waited another half hour and realized that was going to be about as good as it got. We talked with Captain Tony, who had still been in constant contact with the other captains, about making it a half day. He agreed. The fish weren’t biting that day. When we got back to shore, he filleted the King Mack we had caught and recommended a restaurant nearby where they would cook what we caught. We ended up with between 12 and 14 fillets. When we got to the restaurant and they cooked all the fish, the cook asked who we had gone out with. We told him Captain Tony, and he said “Oh yeah. Tony is awesome and knows his stuff. He usually does well”. My wife and I couldn’t agree more.

This was a great trip. Some previous reviews complained about Tony’s “friendliness”, but I think you just need to ask some more questions. He answered everyone of our questions and was very helpful. He does all the work to get the lines in the water - baits, casts, fixes lines, replaces hooks, etc… He also does all the work getting the fish off the hook. He coaches you through reeling the fishing to the boat.  And, he cleans / fillets all the fish when you get back to land. We were there on a slow day, so he kept grinding to find us some fish. Made calls to other boats to find the fish. He decided to switch us to live bait and within 30 minutes we were on 6 - 8 fish. We caught our quota and liked the fact he took care of all the minor details.
The boat was great - plenty of shade, plenty of sun, plenty of space for your food. There is a lot of excitement getting the fish to the boat.
Tony, thanks for taking us out and teaching us how to catch some fish. Appreciate your patience and knowledge.

Thank you Captain Tony for making this a great days for the guys!  This was a great birthday trip.

We had a great day of fishing, the weather was good, we didn’t really want it to end.  Definitely a trip you should take if your visiting or live here.  Cape Canaveral is centrally located, Captain Tony gave us a call within 48 hours of the trip, went over the details and had us ready.  We started a little after 6 to get the whole day in before any rain started. 

We had 6 guys, some experienced and some not.  Everyone had several opportunities and eventually caught several fish.  Captain Tony had lines ready to go for us and brought the fish into the boat when we got them close enough. 
He offered advice, helped the new guys learn.  Just a nice guy who loves fishing - it was great!  If you’re thinking about a charter, choose this one, you will enjoy it!  We are already thinking of booking another.
