Captain Shane Trottier contacted us a couple times prior to fishing date to touch base and the day before trip to warn of rough waters on day of our trip which we were fine with being experienced anglers. Day of trip this guy had us on fish ALL Day!!!  He was fun and super helpful!  Felt like he had a mate with as on top of everything he was lol. He treated us with respect which is important since we have had some terrible tyrant captains before!  This guy really cared about getting us on fish and even stayed out past our 8 hours!!!  Caught about 100 fish and our first sharks and cobia!!  Caught a nice 25-30 pound? Red Snapper and another 20 pounder. Overall caught about 20 red snappers about 20 sharks an AmberJack, Triggerfish, vermillion snapper, Lane Snapper, blue fish, plus many others!!!  I said it before but will say it again we had a great day and hope to go out again sometime with Captain Shane!!

Sometimes the weather leading up to and including the day of the charter just make it impossible to get the fish to bite. It’s those days you appreciate the effort, determination, and personality of the Captain. Captain Shane tirelessly moved us from location to beautiful location in search of landing the big one. We had a lot of laughs enjoying each others’ company while trying to perfect the snag-free cast. Shane happily re-rigged us as he encouraged us to cast under the mangroves, docks, and structures. Sure, we caught a few and had a blast!
Its the end of the day, we’ve had more fun than we paid for, and we were headed back up north when Shane veered to the east and said let’s take a few extra minutes and troll the Inlet! The current was raging and he let us try a few different lures to no avail. The point is this, if you’re looking for a guide that has a nice boat, good equipment, knows the area and is determined to give you a quality day on the water, Shane is your man.

My son and I took my 5 year old grandson for his first real fishing trip. Captain Shane was incredibly good with the youngster, well beyond what most people would endure. He helped him catch a monster Red Snapper that unfortunately had to be released, not in season. But the experience will last my grandson a lifetime. We caught trigger fish, snapper, shark, moray eels, sea bass and saw sea turtles. Captain Shane is very knowledgeable in a variety of techniques to get fish to bite as well as having many excellent productive fishing holes. I will use him again.

Captain Shane should have called his boat the “Smoke Show”. As the reels were on fire on this trip. Shane has a lot of knowledge of the area and I felt that he used his intel to locate bait and put me on the prime spots to land some solid fish. Captain Shane works harder than any other captain I’ve ever chartered. He really cares about giving you a memorable experience!

We had a great time. Totally worth it. It was rough conditions offshore, but we insisted we wanted to go anyways. He worked really hard to get us on fish. Found this huge great white shark out there, and my husband then had her on his line at one point. It was awesome. After some bigger waves moved up on us and made us head in, we finished our day near shore. Caught a variety of fish, took home some lane snappers. Shane was awesome and will do whatever it takes to find you fish and keep you happy. My husband is already planning his return trip for Shane to take him back out to reel in the big one that got away!
