If you are looking for a big new boat and high end rod and reelsโCaptain Terry is probably not your charter.ย However, if you want a knowledgeable guide that will work hard to help you catch fishโCaptain Terry should be your charter.ย He is a best value.ย His main goal is to have his customers catch as many fish as they possibly can.ย His boat is smaller and older, but fast, durable, safe, and very versatile.ย He is willing to adapt techniques to increase the odds of the individual catching fish.
ย Our day started out with a change from the bay to the jetty (no additional charge) due to current fishing reports.ย We were put on the bite, but could not hook the fish.ย Captain Terry changed the rigging and I ended up catching a 19 inch sheepshead.ย We tried a while longer without any more luck.ย We tried several other spots without any bites.ย We saw a few sites of interest and returned to the jetty for the afternoon bite.ย Where we caught several more sheepshead.ย My grandson and I ended up catching 6 sheepshead
From 16 to 19 inches.ย Thank you Captain Terry for not letting me give up.ย My grandson had a blast making the trip worth it.

Well you summed it up very well, but let me clarify so points. Iโm older possibly wiser than younger fisherman and do things a certain way for a reason. The older models of Mako were built better than now and a 20 foot Mako like mine can go in both bays and jetties no matter how high the seas are safely.Larger boats can fish the jetties but canโt fish the bays and on 50% of the time bay boats canโt safely fish the jetties. My boat has a power pole, Bobโs jack plate, Lenco trim tabs all 2017 and an E-Tec engine that is a 2018. As far as rod/reels I use newer equipment but less expensive. I broke a rod on our trip and if that happened on a $200 rod your guide and your trip would be upset. If you broke it or dropped it over board he would most likely want you to pay for it. I donโt punch a clock for someone and if there is an afternoon bite I will continue to fish even after your trip is technically ended.
Two days later with Gene and Tim we caught 25 fish and limited out on Sheepshead, (I posted there photo) thatโs fishing, some days are better than others. I felt your assessment and with my reply will help others know if Iโm the right fit for what they want in a trip and Thank you for taking the time to write a very informative review.
