Well….you either catch fish or you don’t. The day we went, not a single bite. Not for lack of trying, just not in the cards….and that was ok. To be out on a boat, in the beautiful Pacific, off the coast of the Big Island was absolutely enough. It was 4 hours of family time, looking at the island from the water, watching the endless horizon of water, seeing birds, hoping to catch a fish but also being ok if it didn’t happen. The captain and his first mate told funny stories, showed us cool videos of things that happened on other days, talked about growing up on island, it was great. I think it was just about being out there. I can’t speak of how awesome it would have been to catch something, that would have just been frosting on an already great cake. So choose the attitude you bring with you when you go out for a charter. It’s not a guarantee of a big catch, but choose your attitude and you’re definitely guaranteed a good time.

We had a great trip with Captain Zack and the crew. A professional and informative group that added to the enjoyment of the trip. Only caught one with a couple of missed strikes, but the enjoyment is being out on the water having a good time with friends.

To start, we were skunked, but better than a day at work, no helping that. For the crew, first class, nice, friendly and knowledable. The boat and equipment are very good condition. Would definitely go with Captain Zack again.
