We, the members of the sea fishing club Werneuchen/Germany, were able to spend four fantastic fishing days off Madeira at the end of September with the crew of Gavito Madeira Fishing Charters, Capt Anders and the fishing guides, Alphonso and David.We received great care from the crew of the boat “Gavito”. The food, drinks and guiding were excellent. We caught a 220 lbs. yellowfin tuna. The drill lasted into the night and the captain and crew gave the angler great support.We were particularly enthusiastic about the bottom fishing with the crew of the Gavito. We caught quite a few big snappers in one day and were thrilled.At all times Capt. Anders and his crew fantastic. One of the best we have ever experienced in fishing guiding in the world. We will come back in any case.

Had 2 great days on board the Gavito with Capt. Anders David and Alonso. We are family of 4 and everyone really enjoyed the time fishing. Went out trawling to the spot where we started bottom fishing and caught some nice Snappers and Trigger.
For lunch we had some nice Sandwiches prepared by the captains wife. After lunch we started trawling and hooked up to my son’s favourite fish ( Mahi Mahi). We decided to let him swim again as he was hooked nicely and we had enough fish already. On the way back to the marina the crew called a restaurant and made sure that they would prepare the fish for us.
We really enjoyed the fresh and tasty fish with some great Vinho Verde. Day 2 we went out for the big fish. We caught a good size Snapper for dinner. and then went trawling. Trawling was great as we saw a lot off Marine life, dolphins, wale, shark, turtle, flying fish and big tunas hunting and jumping out of the water. We hooked up to a good size tuna but unfortunately lost it. That’s fishing! We want to thank Captain Anders, David and Alonso for a great time and we will be back for more as we need that fresh Tuna Sashimi on the boat.

Capt. Anders and crew (capt. David and Alfonso) were so amazing! They really accommodated my wife and I with this trip. We are celebrating our honeymoon and wanted to be on the water fishing.
We saw a baby sperm whale and even dolphins on this fishing trip. Amazing fish were caught and stories were shared. We couldn’t have asked for a better first experience fishing in madeira waters.

Spent a day trolling for big game with Captain Anders and his excellent team.  No fish unfortunately but this was certainly not for want of trying!  (Virtually none of the boats in Calheta had bites that day)

I had my wife and 2 small kids with us.  Perfect size boat for 4 with a good front section where the kids spend time spotting dolphin and odd flying fish.

Equipment was excellent. Definitely geared towards catching large fish!
We changed over lures a couple of times through the day as well as adjusting teasers so were putting in effort to get some form of bite.  Captain Anders kept us out a 1/2 hour extra to see if that managed to translate into bite as well

Overall excellent day, friendly Captain and crew and a great equipment. I am sure we will be back next year!
