Captain Shelby, Captain Andy’s son, was the perfect choice for our half day of shark fishing off Jekyll Island, Georgia.

The boat had a Bimini top to provide shade.  Shelby welcomed us with an easy laugh, marine wildlife facts and local island tidbits.

The day was windy so Captain Shelby adapted to stay closer inshore behind a shrimp boat. His efforts paid off! Our college kids got in plenty of “reel action”. The family got 16 hits and pulled in ten significant sharks to catch and release!

We learned about specific behavior differences between sharks. Shelby was quick to move lines and position the boat during catches.

It was a pleasure to have Captain Shelby as our guide. The fishing trip was a wonderful time to bond before everyone is headed back to college and a great start to Shark Week!

Amazing trip.  Had an incredible time and brought home plenty of whiting.  Caught some nice bonnet head shark, spots and summer trout. Had a blast. Highly, highly recommend.

We had a wonder time fishing..Caught a lot of whiting for fish tacos and then on to the sharks. The Captain Shelby Hicks was very knowledgeable of the fishing spots and knew just how to catch those big black tips and bonnet head sharks. Had a great trip and will most definitely use Island Anglers again.
