My wife n I went with Captain Greg on a full day trip, we both wanted to fish but she also wanted to sight see n go to shell island. So we went fishing first caught 9 keepers pretty quick then it slowed down so he took my wife to shell island and dropped her off n we went back fishing. She walked around n found some big beautiful shells when she was done we moved again and started fishing again started catching a bunch my wife and I got tired of catching and was ready to go after 6 hours. Thanks Captain Greg we both had a great time.

First off, Capt. Greg Kembro offered and delivered exactly the experience that my wife and I wanted. As it was our first time trying deep-sea fishing, we asked for an opportunity to catch a few bigger fish than a bunch of little ones. We caught some good-size grouper and king mackerel, which he then cleaned and processed for us when we got back to the port. Several pounds of delicious filets!

Now, one thing about Capt. Greg’s Big’Uns Charters operation: His is a no-frills adventure. His boat is well-used and gets you where you want, but don’t expect any special conveniences. My wife and I were fine with this because we wanted to learn how to fish and have Capt. Greg explain what he was doing, so being able to sit close and hear his explainations were more important to us than a super-shiny boat with all the bells & whistles.

The morning looked stormy, but Captain Greg was in contact by 6:00am.  We decided to wait til later and see how the weather turned out.  In the end, it was overcast and some showers, but nice enough.  He gave me the option to get a refund, but I chose to go.

And it was great.  He is a very pleasant man and has total knowledge of the local fishing.  I caught 7 keeper sized reds (of course we only kept our limit) and we never traveled far from the marina.  Also caught a couple of nice sheepsheads. 

Very large boat, comfortable even in slightly choppy water and a stiff breeze.
