The wife and I were in Antigua for our 15 year anniversary in late June and booked for a 6 hour trip. Private boat.

I have been ocean fishing (in shore and off shore) in several places in the world and this was a great experience despite my wife being extremely sea sick the entire time. Captain Sloan and his mate Terry were awesome on both the fishing and interaction front and were so kind and compassionate to my poor wife who, despite her sickness, stuck it out for about 5.5 hours.

We caught some really nice barracuda (5ft), a few nice kingfish, some mahi mahi that our resort cooked up for us later that night, and one extremely irritated trevally that fought like a SOB.

Boat and gear were great and so was the conversation. The seas were rougher than I’ve experienced on previous trips, so if you’re prone to sea sickness, I would think carefully about the offshore options. We actually caught a few nice kingfish right outside the harbor and were hooking up steadily all morning. It floundered in the afternoon. Lost two good ones on cut lines. That’s fishing!

We are a family of 5, and we enjoyed the half day       (6 hour) deep sea fishing trip with Captain Sloan and his son, Tristan. We caught about 15 barracuda, and some were huge! We also caught 4 medium sized TUNA. My youngest son is 13 and he successfully reeled in several barracuda and a tuna! Everyone had fun.
We have been deep sea fishing before on other islands, and this was definitely one of the more enjoyable experiences. We even saw some humpback whales splashing around the ocean. The Pacific Marlin is a beautiful boat. We were very fortunate that there was an opening for us to spend the day fishing. We recommend The Pacific Marlin with Captain Sloan and Tristan. We will definitely make plans to fish with them again on our next visit to Antigua. Thank you for a wonderful day!

*Booked on FishBooker App after reading and comparing all the reviews. Booking, payment, confirmation, and communication with Capt. Sloan was all easy, seamless, and responsive.
*Pick-up, introductions, niceties, vessel rules and safety moment was punctual, professional, and personal. Both Sloan and Venroy are very welcoming and accommodating.
*As we exited Jolly Harbour, Venroy was rigging lines, but also very conversational pointing out some impressive vessels, landmarks, and detailing his rigging work….all 7 lines wet as we hit open water. Come on fish!
*Sloan got us out to water, Venroy diligently and continuously managing the gear. We were rolling a bit, wasn’t the calmest of days, not that I wasn’t paying attention to my wife, just more intent on watching and waiting for the zing in the lines; Venroy noticed my wife struggling a bit and suggested her a better seating position and drink. Thank you Venroy for being so well attuned the customer and never missing a beat.
*”Fish on, get in the chair!” Mahi hit the top line, fought him to the gaff, Venroy helping bring line, Sloan on the gaff, nice 15-20# bull.
*These guys didn’t stop hustling all morning, fish on, Barracuda…nasty fish, put it in the box. Fish on-Wahoo, I missed that one, fish on-Whaoo- I lost that one.
*Ocean is big, deep and wide; these guys put you on the fish and work hard for your success. They are an engaging, fun, competent crew building relationships beyond fishing. We will definitely be repeating with Pacific Marlin.

Captain Sloan and First Mate Ben were top notch! We had a perfect morning to be out on the water.  The weather was super calm and then the wind picked up as it often does in Antigua.  We caught mostly smaller barracuda and then when we were headed back to end the day during the last hour caught an awesome Mahi Mahi.  Plenty to feed our family and then some.  Highly recommend this tour for all from the serious fishers to families. Boat is easy to maneuver around in and comfy to relax and get some sun while you’re waiting for a bite. It’s easy to wait for the fish to bite here because you’re looking at the amazing views of Antigua and surrounding islands the whole time. Plus a slow day fishing beats any day at the office!

Unbelievable day with the guys Kevin and Sloan put us on multiple fish and got me the birthday wahoo I wanted. Can’t recommend them enough!
