The fishing charter was great.  Lance was so helpful with our two young daughters who are not experienced boaters.  We had an amazing time.  We would definitely book again and highly recommend Black Flag Fishing OBX.

My wife, two young (3 & 8) daughters, and brother-in-law and I went out with Captain Lance and Fran for a 3/4 day trip, and it was amazing!  They met us at the dock at Oregon Inlet, helped get everyone on board and off we went! 

The fishing was slow to start, but they were great with the kids, teaching them about everything we were seeing and helping them enjoy the morning! We ended up catching a couple of fish in the morning and then got to ride right next to a group of dolphin on the way back. My BIL was the big winner, catching some fish after noon, which was perfect for fish tacos for dinner that night!

It was the perfect day and they made it even better by Fran and Lance being so good with the kids. If you are looking for a family-friendly excursion with good people, this is the boat!

We are looking forward to coming back to the beach on our next vacation and booking them again!!

I’ve arranged several fishing trips with Captain Lance of Black Flag Fishing over the last couple of seasons and it’s been BY FAR the best charter experience on the beach, each time. His knowledge of both inshore and nearshore waters is incredible. He knows exactly where to be, when to be there, which fish will be biting, and what tackle and lures to put into action. I actually reeled in personal best speckled trout and red drum while aboard Black Flag last summer—the latter being a 45-inch citation! Captain Lance was also very patient and informative when helping show different fishing techniques along the way. Last but not least, the vessel itself is clean, comfortable, and perfect for small groups that want a more hands-on and personal experience. Book a trip when you can… It’s the best way to see the beauty of the OBX with the added benefit of fishing while you do it!

I have been on several charters with Captain Lance Marler and can’t say enough great things about Captain Lance and my experiences.  I have been on numerous charters, both off shore and in shore, and my time with Lance has been exceptional.  I have taken all of my grandkids on charters with Lance and the time he spent with each of them as well as his patience, is exceptional.  Lance worked hard to put us on the fish.  As some of my grandkids are younger, his patience in answering all their questions was very noticeable.  As a veteran of the waters in this area, Lance was very educational and pointed out many landmarks along the way.  He worked hard to not only find the fish but also to make certain that everyone was having a good time.  My charters with Lance have been memorable and I can’t support Lance and his charter business enough-for the veteran fisherman, for the dad who wants to take his kids for the first time or for someone just looking to have a memorable time on the water.

Lance was was a fantastic captain he was very accommodating and made sure to run plans through the group throughout the trip. One of the best charters we have been on after coming to obx for 10 plus years. The boat and gear were in great shape. I would recommend him to anyone looking to catch fish and have a great time while in the outer banks.
