I booked Capt Mike before I even drove down to the OBX and he called me within 10 mins to say Hi, get an idea of what I wanted to do and he was ready for me at 7:30am on Monday (June 17, 2024) and within 10 mins of leaving the dock, I was setting the hook on Sea Trout.  I had booked a 4 hr charter and didn’t want to kill my limit, only wanting to throw some filets on the grill.  I think we caught 10 during the 3 hours we were out and by 10:30- I told Mike that I was ready to head in.  The Sunday sunburn I got and the full sun we were getting was just too much for me.  Mike was working hard all morning- checking in w other charters to see how they were doing… and honestly… we were doing better than most.  We casted for Sea Trout with a ‘popping corks’ program.  Being that the bay was shallow- less than 5 ft in most areas- casting made sense.  But, Mike did tell me that some boats out there have very different programs, so be sure to ask the captain what he likes to do, and make sure that’s what u had in mind.
I would DEFINITELY book Capt Mike again.

This was a last minute trip and Cap’n Mike was able to accommodate us with no problem. From meeting him on the dock we knew he was a good choice. Mike is personable, knows the waters of the Sound, and watches out for the comfort of his clients. Within 15 minutes of dropping anchor we had a pair of trout on the lines. Within the hour we had 4 trout in the cooler, each over 20” long. When that spot cooled off we went in search of drum, and though we never found them we did catch a few more fish. Good boat, good gear, great Captain, great experience!

Sounds Good Charters was great. Captain Mike was polite and very professional. He was all about getting the young man on our trip involved and explaining things to him and us about the fish we were going to try and catch. You could tell Captain Mike loved fishing and wanted us to have the best possible experience on his boat/trip.  That meant a lot to the 4 of us. We will definitely being using Sounds Good Charters again.
