If you’re looking for an offshore guide, I would highly suggest Captain Mendez. He was more excited to catch fish then we were. He asked us what we wanted to do and succeeded. He and his mate provided excellent service, drinks, lunch, and even a snack of what we caught at the end of the day!

Captain Mendez and his mate were to notch and we had an awesome morning fishing trip! My son wrestled and landed a very large Jack and my husband caught a Rooster! Plus we pulled up several snapper and grouper - 11 fish in total! Captain Mendez knows where are the good spots, and took fun pictures and videos along the way. Highlight of our trip! Do this when visiting the area. We stayed in Playa Hermosa and pick up was right on the beach

Captain Mendez picked us up right at 6:30am on the beach and we were off! Within 10 minutes of having our lines in the water, we doubled up on two giant rooster fish! After trolling some more we went off shore a bit and go into a school of red snapper which were great for cooking. They had all sorts of snacks, drinks and great tunes. Highly recommend captain Mendez and his crew. We will absolutely book them the next time we are in Costa Rica!

We booked the half-day fishing trip with Captain Mendez and we asked for bottom fishing. We had a great fishing trip and he brought us to at least 10 different spots for fishing. Within a relatively short amount of time we caught around 20 fish, mostly snapper and grouper. The captain and crew worked hard to get us fish and were friendly. We really enjoyed our fishing trip with Captain Mendez and would highly recommend him for a fishing trip.

Captain Mendez picked us up to get to his boat, we went offshore to the current line and started trolling. It didn’t take long, we saw Mahi Mahi jump behind the lures, but this day, they were picky. Few bites, no fishi on. Then, soon after they vanished, one line started to scream; there was something big on the line. It took my 14 year old 20 minutes to reel it in, but then finally, there it was, a nice wahoo of more than 5 feet! We resumed fishing, saw 2 sailfins and went after them. We circled... More
