We started fish for Tarpon, caught a few hammer heads right away then a Jack. Moved to a different spot and not n stop Mutton Snapper action while soaking a few Tarpon lines then BOOM!. Big fish on and this fish would not come up from the bottom no matter what. We chased and fought this fish for 3+ hours and 2+ miles. Monster Sawfish finally won the fight. Spending the day fishing with Zach was a blast- the highlight of my trip to Islamorada. He presented options on what to fish,  and I chose to target Snook rather than fishing top water for Barracuda, which I’ll be back to do. Targeted species: tarpon and permit Tarpon: Weather didn’t really corporate with us for tarpon fishing. Zach pulled out all the stops to try to lure them despite strong winds. Permit: Arrived on location a little early due to stubborn tarpon but the permit showed up on time with tide change. Had a fun time and made some great memories.

We had a great day with Zach on the flats sight fishing on the fly rod for tarpon, permit and bonefish.  He’s got a nice set up (boat, rods, etc.) and has got great eyes for incoming fish!  He’s friendly and easy to talk to and laugh with.  We’ll be back!
