We arranged a memorial service, therefore no fishing, and it went perfect. The Captain kept in constant contact with weather updates and rescheduled us to a safe day to go out on the ocean. Being in town for a short period of time during December high tides, this was very important to us. We brought smaller children who had never been on the ocean, so the fact that they have seating completely hard covered with windows and a bathroom, was such huge factors when booking. One of our kids slept the majority of the ride. Our Captain was very flexible and took pictures and video for us. On the way back through the river, we even saw dolphins! Highly recommend!

Excellent experience on the water with Captain Trent and his first mate, Brandon. Simply cannot say enough good things about Catch of the Day charters! Our first time chartering a boat to deep sea fish and we were NOT disappointed. From contacting us the day before (via text and phone) to discuss what the weather forecast was looking like and reminding us what we should bring along, to the moment we arrived, Captain Trent made us feel like family. Being newbies, he and Brandon made sure to explain and show us everything! They knew exactly where the fish were and within minutes of “arriving” out at sea, both of my kids had impressive-sized Mahi Mahi on the hook!! Being our first time, we booked the half day trip, not knowing what to expect. However, during our time out we caught close to 20 fish, including red snapper and other varieties! The excitement of the day was when an approximately 40+ lb amberjack (educated guess by Captain Trent and Brandon) took our bait/red snapper catch on the way up, only to get swallowed by what clearly was a 100+ lb SHARK as the family took turns trying to reel the find in!! (Also caught a bird (!) that caused a wee bit of chaos as we set it free). Captain Trent and Brandon filleted and cleaned all of our catches at the end and we left with an entire cooler full of the freshest fish! DEFINITELY recommend Catch of the Day charters and we WILL be back!!

I’m a former charter captain from Bermuda and in my opinion Captain Trent and his mate Braden are fabulous!
They worked to ensure our trip was a success from the minute we stepped on the boat. While Cap’n Trent explained the boat rules Trent was getting the baits set up and the rods out and ready.
We steamed out, stooped to pick up some live baits, and then steamed a little further and put out the trawl. We hit a couple of bonito and then the sailfish hit! Josh and Alex shared the work and were able to land him.
This was Alex and Josh’s first deep sea fishing trip, and they’re already planning the next one and it will be with Catch of the Day!
